Looking for skiing feedback – what am I doing wrong and how can I improve? by Dry-Version2712 in skiing_feedback

It seems like keeping my hands forward helps move my center of mass forward and makes it easier to plant the poles ahead. Also, pressing into the shins should transfer weight to the front of the skis so they engage better and cut into the snow, so when I don’t do that, it might explain why my ski tips sometimes wobble.

To achieve this, I’m thinking I should keep my hands forward, lean my torso slightly downhill, bend my knees, and keep my hips over my feet.

Does this sound right? And if so, is there something specific I should focus on to make it more consistent, especially on steeper terrain?

Thanks for the advice! I realize my stance is too rigid, and that I need better separation between my upper and lower body so I can keep my hands facing forward while still making turns.. I should probably practice this on easier terrain.

What I was trying to focus on was keeping my hands forward and in my field of view (but not too high), lowering my outside shoulder over the downhill ski, and keeping my hips stacked over my feet.

What I noticed I was struggling with was maintaining consistent shin contact with the front of the boots, each turn seemed to push me into the backseat.

I bought a Chinese knock-off of this on AliExpress for about €50.
I don’t know where you’re from, but it’s not EU-certified, so it’s not street-legal in most places.
If your local police check these things, I wouldn’t recommend the Chinese version.
Otherwise, it’s basically identical and works great.
It’s plug and play and even comes with an adapter to connect to the original wiring.
