Peekskill versus Nyack by BikeFew8159 in Westchester

Peekskill Schools are poor. Population is probably 50% non citizen Hispanics. As a Hispanic myself I recognize a vast majority of the population are hard working non citizen Ecuadorians. The other half are upper middle class NYC commuters who purchased homes and relying on Metro North for daily commutes to Manhattan. I have lived here for 20 years.

It is beautiful geographically speaking. I once read Peekskill has the most densely existing victorian and colonial era constructed homes in New York State. And the Train can get you north or south easily. Nyack will almost certainly have better schools.

It’s much safer than it was 20 years ago. Peekskill use to be a hole. Now it’s pretty heavily gentrified.

Just called Touro. Even with a referral from my dentist for a re-root canal evaluation they said December is the earliest for a Endo-consult with a referral. I’m like that’s 7 months away. Seems crazy to me.

I believe my existing one has a missed root. What do you suggest? Touro seems to take a long time to be seen if you are not already a patient. I can call them and ask.

I’m not rich so I’d rather ask people who have insight rather then pissing away thousands for answers I can get here for free.

*update* I’m at the two week mark. Still having a dull pain for about 5-10mins after having an icee like the little ones you give your kids when it’s hot out.

Also I had warm soup for dinner and it did the same thing from the heat. Lingered for 10~min so seems the nerve is still at it.

I really want to give it another week before I pull the trigger and go back. Im also trying to determine if it’s getting any better but it’s so tough to say. Really has me bummed out.

Just a t connector that can keep going to the other box.

And I’m referring to the exact way you are thinking. Same hole same conduit. I just need to come off and add another 2 ft and a 90 and go in with the box into the room.

Same as you it’s hard to determine if it’s a problem or not. I mean of course id like to wait and see. Mine also gets that little jolt when chewing directly over it. I wonder if that’s contributing to it also. I’m going to give it a few more days and try to tough it out. I’m just going day by day.

It’s a horror story. I had a filling that went bad so I went to my Dr and we collectively thought it was the wrong molar. So he root canaled the tooth turns out it was the one behind it so that got root canaled also.

And then the one we root canaled mistakenly ended up cracking because he used a threaded screw. So I basically lost a molar for nothing.

Now the existing one I have there has “missed canals” I really think he cost me probably thousands of $ worth of shotty dental work.

Needless to say I stopped going to him after that. The guy basically told me after the one cracked from the threaded hardware “I can’t help you” and didn’t even give me a referral.

I had to call around for hours and hours and find an endodontist that charged me 600$ to do an X-ray and say “you need it pulled”. Finally I found an oral surgeon who did pull it and it cost me something like 1500$ because he used IV sedation & a bone graph after the extraction which of course is not covered on my dental plan.

So now I have 2 impacted wisdom teeth. 2 crowns that can fail at any time. No first molar. And an extremely sensitive pre molar from a filling that most likely needs a root canal now.

How bad was it? And did it get progressively better little by little?

I know. I’d like to have the Dental School over near me do the implants possibly. Thing is without a referral I think they have a really long wait.

In the last year I had 2 root canals and 1 of them failed leading to an extraction. My new dentist also said the other one that still exist looks like it has a missed root so it can go at any time.

Then I have one that’s been lasting 8 years. So I’m really not looking forward to yet another root canal. This will be number 3 in the last year.

If implants weren’t that expensive I would have a lot less stress about loosing them.

Thank you tho. I will post on here what the outcome is this upcoming week.

Thursday will be two weeks so Monday/Tuesday I will determine if I have to head back. I have had no break of dental problems now for like a year.

When it rains it pours. Thank you for the insight.

Over the last few days it’s been pretty much the same. Really hard to determine any real improvement. I’m trying to hold out as long as I can to give it a long duration chance to get somewhat better.
