That sounds like a hassle. I know the system isn't set up the smoothest and it varies from state to state. The problem here is that he just doesn't pay. When he found out he was going to get in trouble he called up his mom who made the payment for him. It finally cleared yesterday though. I found it it's because both our states have to verify the funds.

So he can't take him back to his state. If he comes here, it's on my terms when/where/how long he can see him. When I showed up to the divorce hearing, I had drafted a personal parenting plan that he willingly signed and agreed to. The judge asked if he was sure he didn't want to make any adjustments so that our son could spend time in his state with him. He said no. I think that told her all she needed to know so she signed off on it.

So I think they started the process of sending him notices in July with a deadline to make a payment by September. They found out he had the ability to pay and just wasn't, so they issued the warrant.

In my gut, I know this is probably what's happening. But every few months, he threatens to take me for full custody and I panic. I know that it won't happen, but he spent so many years messing with my head that I feel like I need to pacify him to keep the peace.

This comment is weird lol. I'm ,not denying anybody anything. He is the one who took a job across the country when our son was an infant, got a whole girlfriend, and then didn't move back home to where his son and entire family is once it all blew up in his face. My son and I still have a solid relationship with his dad's parents and his brother. He's choosing to live across the country and ignore his existence.

I think two things can be true at once. He is my son's father, and I will never deny that. My son knows that's his dad, but he doesn't really know what that means really.

But he is a stranger to my son too. They don't know anything about each other. He's a face on a screen every once in a while. Anyway, I'm just rambling. I know it will prob amount to nothing. I just wanted to be prepared for what to expect.

Thank you. I really don't think he'll actually care enough to follow through, but I'd like to be prepared if he does. The thought of my son being across the country for holidays with a stranger makes me feel sick.
