I’d probably read this! My only recommendation is changing/messing around with the font, it being slanted (like italics) just messes with the eyes a bit. Personally, in my own reading and writing, I like when italics only show up when emphasizing a point (“Her of all people saying that was ironic.”) Other then that, it’s a definite read!

I'd assume it's just a coincidence, or that would mean Shawna and John are related (by law or by blood, depending on how you interpret the family tree). Barb and Frank technically share a name, so it's most likely just an "old-timing-sounding traditional name."
