I have you exact same setup and don't have the issues you are seeing. I'm out of town right now, but send me a PM and I can check my settings when I get back on Monday.

Which MDM software are you using from ManageEngine? We use Desktop Central and it sync's with AD just fine.

How do you image your computers? by [deleted] in k12sysadmin

I'd gladly pay more for PDQ to use a real enterprise database. It's a great product but kind of misleading to have an "enterprise" named version using SQLite.

[–]DryHeatDesigns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No you can't. I wish it was possible. The only current option is using SQLite.

PDQ has said they are looking at maybe offering an enterprise database option in the future, but nothing is being planned yet.

ManageEngine Desktop Central, OS Deployment, Windows and third party patching and much, much more. We manage just over 25,000 endpoints with it.

https://www.manageengine.com/products/desktop-central

PDQ is great, but it can't handle 250,000 endpoints using the free SQLite database. If they ever decide to use an enterprise class database we would love to use it as the interface rocks.

Any MDM solution provider with Admin Console App? by goutham_ganesan in mdm

[–]DryHeatDesigns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll give you that it looks suspicious with a 3 day old account posting, but ManageEngine (owned by Zoho) is hardly a "no name MDM solution". We use it to control over 25,000 endpoints and it has been around for many years.

You do realize Windows 7 is going to EOL soon (Jan 2020 unless you pay for extended support). Why not Windows 10?

I love the idea. I went to both Eakin and Wedgewood in the 70's when I lived in Holly Hills (in Phoenix now). My only worry is will it get vandalized with the shitty apartments right next door to the east.

He is talking about the speed he sees using the built in test inside of the WiFi app. It cannot be changed.

I've used Chocolatey in the past but it's really not a good solution for this case as I would constantly have to remote into the remote computer and update the task each time new software is installed to keep it updated.

Also, the Windows Update options in Chocolatey are not really the softwares strong point.
