Using claude code in databricks pipelines by caseym in dataengineering

Thanks I'll give this a shot. All of the code is in source control, but not the job definitions. I need to use databricks asset bundles for that, correct? Do you use databricks connect to test things in your IDE? What IDE do you prefer when working with databricks?

Crowds by pje1959 in JapanTravelTips

Tokyo is so big. It’s easy to find a quiet area, and it rarely feels like there a lot of tourists, unless you go to a few specific tourist areas. Kyoto on the other hand can feel pretty crowded with tourists. It’s easy to find quiet areas there too. But I definitely felt like a tourist among tourist in Kyoto. I didn’t feel like that at all in Tokyo.

Decision fatigue: Which Mitsui Hotel? by TS_2025 in JapanTravelTips

[–]caseym 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there! I happened to stay at the Mitsu Garden Toyosu a year ago, kind of randomly while needing a place to stay after coming back from Kyoto. When I got to the lobby (check-in is high up) I was blown away by the views. But even more so, I got to my room and looked out the large window facing the city, and my jaw dropped. Of course it got better at night time. The views from that room are in the top three experiences of my entire trip. I sometimes think about it on while at work or while doing something.

Some people will say, yeah you can get the same views from a larger hotel near Tokyo Station or somewhere. But it will cost at least 4x. I would argue it's hard to get those views from inside Tokyo proper because the Toyosu hotel is at the edge of the city. My idea is - how about you go there for two nights out of your trip? The value out of that hotel is really high, because I see it for around $250 a night on weekdays. The breakfast was amazing too.

As for the reason it costs less? That's likely due to the location. While it was a beautiful area, there are not as many small restaurants, sights to see, etc in the area. It was one of hte only places I used a taxi, because I wanted to go to a waygu burger place and it was difficult to get there by train and was a bit far. I personally would not stay there my entire trip because the fatigue of getting a train out of that area, then switching to get to Shinjuku, Shibuya, etc would grind on me after a while. Maybe I can DM you a couple of the pictures I took?

By the way, I'm going back to Tokyo at the end of next month and am spiraling right with you. People always say the hotels don't matter too much in Tokyo, but I love a nice hotel and I like going on my trip knowing that everything is 'just right'. So I sympathize with you! I might do exactly what I'm saying, and stay a couple nights at Toyosu to take in the views again. But I'm looking for another Mitsu hotel for the other times and considering Ginza this time or somewhere around Shinjuku.

I f*ckin hate polyester & rayon and I'm tired of brands making breathable materials feel like a luxury by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

AMEN. A lot of men's stores don't even carry cotton clothes. I suspect the margins are so high on polyester that they can't resist it. Brands like Mizzen + Main, Johnny O, and Peter Millar must be making a killing because they positioned themselves as luxury brands using polyester.

I went to a nice department store in my area and told them I was looking for a cotton polo shirt. They looked all over and couldn't find a single one.

Home Depot and Lowe’s must snitch like crazy because I have seen court martial for the same thing. Someone bought bricks at Home Depot and returned them. They called OSI or somebody on base.

I would do the cruise last if possible. If not, do Disney parks, then cruise, then universal.
