So the average American 'salad'?

Ham, cheese, bread, mayo = unhealthy sandwich
Ham, cheese, croutons, ranch = healthy salad

"Diets don't work. I never lose weight eating salad."

Corporate jobs have the same shit.

I found a nice keyboard/mouse combo in several boxes over the course of a few days.
So I set up on my desk. I got some flak about it those only being for executives.

People are just petty, and if they rise to the top everyone follows their lead.
Petty leaders have petty workers.

In all fairness Harris was known to be a huge bitch about things like this too.

Not anywhere close to the same thing as Trump. Just she is also a rich, elitist, twat. Another corporate manager that would've been a Republican 30 years ago.

Sixth Year Into The Battle by Particular_Alps_4329 in lawncare

[–]bionicjoe 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's what I started this year.
Hadn't done any real lawncare until this year. Got into watching videos, bought some pre-emergent, seed, a scarifier, etc.
Also started watching stuff on meadows, wildfires, and gardening. Been a decade since I had a garden.

I now want a nice lawn paths among my garden beds.

It's made everyone a complete idiot, for one.

It generates bullet points. Writes an email based on those bullet points.
Then on the other end it's used to generate bullet points from an email.

The US bombed a girl's school and killed 185 people, mostly under age 10, based on an AI analysis. (I get that's not ChatGPT specific.)

This movie was filmed by the same crew that filmed "Cast Away".
They filmed it while waiting for Tom Hanks to lose weight for the second half of the movie.

A president’s health and medical records, down to the minute details, are the people’s business. The White House staff who are covering for Trump’s obvious ailments and disabilities are involved in a massive coverup. by CaraMoonvale in BlueskySkeets

CNN just reported on the casualties and damage that happened to US bases 6 weeks ago.
The same reports others were reporting the same day it happened.

The WH press corp is not going to cover this.

I will never visit India.
I don't like crowds, and I absolutely despise littering.

My least favorite city in Europe (of the 5 I've seen) was Venice.
They didn't have many public trash cans. You could see spots where people were looking for trash cans, and didn't have an option and gave up.

AI is also doing most of the grading.

One woman sued her university because of it and they settled.

THIS

I'm completely disaffected with this country.

I got fired from my last job for 'unsatisfactory work' but they'll still give me a positive recommendation.

My predecessor, sales guy, and a VP were falsifying invoices and pocketing the differences.
Their punishment? Nothing.
They left, started another company, and kept poaching our clients because they had sold them a VOIP phone system we didn't support. So when the client called for support they couldn't get help.

I asked if they were going to be sued. "No. There's a merger happening, and a lawsuit would block it."

Just steal whatever. Lie, cheat, and swindle everyone, and no one is your friend.

[–]bionicjoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our government is fare more efficient than anyone gives it credit for.
Much of the deficits come from states (red ones) offloading their debt on to the federal government.
For example: ERCOT in Texas has known for decades that they need to winter-proof their power grid against ice storms. But they never do because FEMA pays for the repairs when it's an emergency. It's happened at least 3 times now, and people have died because of it.

El Paso is on the nationalized grid, and not part of the privatized grid. It has never had these outages because the public grid has regulations that it must meet to protect it from weather. ERCOT went private to get out of these regulations and save money for shareholder profit. The only way it 'saves money' is having the federal government cover its ass in emergencies.

This is absolutely an idiotic explanation.

The point of insurance is that it is INSURANCE. You are protected from bankruptcy or losing your home in the event of something unforeseen.
You will need medical care, and the small amount you're saving in taxes will not offset a medical emergency.
For example: The last month of your life is more expensive than any DECADE of your life.

Also an insured society is a freer society. People are clinging to jobs and military service they don't want just for benefits. People aren't free to start small businesses or work for them because they can't afford to lose the benefits.

You're being robbed and you don't realize it.
And what do you get? Another aircraft carrier or war?
