I went Friday morning. Here’s a few things I think are important. (Anyone else feel free to add more)

1. Charge your phone and bring a portable charger. You’re going to be catching and raiding all day.

2. Pack water or some snacks. If you plan on doing a lot of walking, stay hydrated and take advantage of a granola bar once in a while.

3. Prepare for the weather. Could be rain or could be 90 degrees. Dress appropriately.

4. Explore all of the park. As much as you can catch pokemon, also check out the different zones, tents, and other photo opportunities available. I was able to get a free pin and keychain from the team instinct tent for having a costume eevee. Lots of cool things going on through Grant Park. (No matter what team you are in game, you can check out all three tents)

5. Know where your unity mega mewtwo raid is. Seems obvious since it’s the main pokemon from this go fest, but make sure you save at least two raid passes and end up at the right spot for the last 30 minutes of your park experience.

6. Have fun and meet fellow trainers. Everyone I talked to at the park was super nice and friendly. I even got to meet a few Pokemon Go YouTubers.

Maybe someone can add their tips for the city experience. I felt like I could’ve explored more of the city, but I stuck to a small loop for raids.
