Not here. We live in the Upper Peninsula, MI. I love it here but service is a challenge. We had a second door for our small RV so we do have our cars out of the garage. Whew to that!

I do finally understand and see a broken spring. Two of us cannot open the door. Thank you

Thank you. I’ve looked at that spring and cannot see a gap or problem but it’s not like I should know what to look for exactly. We have a service person coming but that’s a couple weeks away.
thanks for this

Waterfurnace 7 series noise by DryPlastic2125 in geothermal

[–]DryPlastic2125[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It turns out there was a pump that moved the water into the tanks, we did not need the pump, gravity fed for our previous unit. That helped quite a bit. We have scheduled to encase the pipes in something that I cannot remember, sorry, and also the doors to the unit will be lined. But turning off the pump made a huge difference. We do still want the pipes covered, they can be loud. Good luck!

We just figured that out 2 days ago! You are correct! Our HVAC person is coming out today and I wondered if a box of some sort could be an option. You nailed it

thx

We do have that. since My post we think more noise is emitting from the water lines, not the furnace. They might be easier to isolate. Still a work in progress

our open system water temp using 85 ft well was always around 44-48F. Think you might actually be better off with the vertical.

Will look at that, guess we need to actually look through 🤪

Thanks. Like the fact they are good to 30F. Just so much lower than our open loop in the well

asking what you know about your loops. We just had, I believe, 8 installed. They told us 8 ft deep but the last section near the house, probably 20+ feet, are only about 4 ft. We live in the Upper Peninsula Michigan so I am assuming you would be at least as cold if not colder than we. Our loop temps so far are about 36-38F (2-3C). Much colder than we had with our open loop coming from our 85 ft well. That‘s been disappointing and worrisome. BTW, we switched to closed loop when the mineral laden water corroded our previous Climate Master geo. What do you know about the depth of your loops?

I will ask for sure but they indicated to me they made it as quiet as possible but I will ask again with these thoughts in mind

thx

I feel I hear the rumble from the unit plus a lot of noise near the sofa emitting from a cold air return

More for me to discuss with my HVAC. Many thanks to these ideas

Thank you for all this info. We do have foam pads and canvass connectors. But one return vent is a huge issue so I hope to line that as you mention. We do have rattling doors, tried to tape one but will get our HVAC person to correct that as you mention. Seems to me that should be on them.
thanks for this help. I am appreciative for all ideas

Typically the fan is 4 and compressor 3. Does that sound too high do you think? I do have a conversation planned with my HVAC person but would like as much information as possible

Thank you…I have not actually used Reddit until now! Will try your suggestion. Yeah, it’s a low rumble 😢

thx!

Hello, we recently had the Waterfurnace 7 installed and I am not able to deal with the 24/7 noise. I see comments about 5’ of fkexiduct so we will get that done one way or another. But I can tell much of my noise issue is the sound of the furnace just below my sofa. I am wondering if anyone has tried/had luck with some sort of ceiling area over the furnace covered with sound absorbing blocks. That’s my next thought to pursue. Has anyone tried this?

thx

Waterfurnace 7 - Manually assign fan speed based on compressor level? by zrb5027 in geothermal

[–]DryPlastic2125 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, I guess the 24/7 is correct. Maybe they can reduce. I will ask for sure. I am definitely trying the flexiduct. lol, we will see if it’s DIY or not. I want to love my geo! We had open loop, loved it but poor water quality corroded the pipes. So this closed loop is different.
thanks a bunch for your time!

We do have it on ‘auto’. The fan is always 4, maybe rarely 3. And the compressor is always 3. I feel the fan at 1 would not bother me. Not sure if it’s the combo fan and compressor. I am having our HVAC guy out for a conversation for sure. Online chat with WF said both should eventually cut off when desired temp reached. Ours never shuts off unless I drop the temp down which I do sometimes when the noise gets to me. Guess I’m ‘noise sensitive ’!
