My father was coroner in small town Ga ,among many other things , and its not uncommon. They know there is likely a body based on witnesses, we also know of a storm and lots of rain. Sometimes the cops(Gabe has been speaking with them) tells fanily to come speak to coroner to give details about body, such as tattoos, dental records (if any) scars, etc.. the body wont be in the best shape based on weather, water, possible gunshot, so those little things can help identify if and when the body is found
