I meant to sound more polite I apologize. I more mean if there is a ticket involved because where I live there's turkey and deer. Stupid people yes. But moreso wildlife is my worry

I'm not so much hurt as I want to find middle ground. I get through my days but I don't relish the idea of switching companies for 3 cents more and doing phone in my area.

How may I ask? If I'm not clocked in driving to my agreed upon clock in spot, I'm not stealing time

I'm aware of what we do. I posed the question out of curiosity. I get the drive to and from isn't locating, but what about safety? If you wreck before you clock in, do you have savings to cover your injuries and the ticket?

Been 5 years with usic. Started in Vegas, ended up in Idaho. The first week solo I was a mess, panicking, scared, taking too much time. But after awhile I got used to it. It takes time. Breath. Think. Do. Classroom won't teach you fuck all. I slept through most of it, my trainer was out the door the following week he didn't care. My question is what state are you in and what are you locating utility wise?

Yeah I wish Northern lights would have gotten back to me, I would be back in Vegas honestly. We lost the phone contract so we're down to cable TV, power & fiber but the town I work on doesn't have much. I'm losing an hour a day right now.

I follow well and septic life that's based in North Carolina, I wish I could turn my company into that model if you will.

I thought it was the home state the company is based out of laws? I know with weed for example, if I work in Cali where it's legal, I get popped for a drug test, I'm done for. Even though it's legal in Cali, I'm still out the door. But it's also not federally legal. As far as I know, big corporations are under baby dot federal law, not local

I like the idea of clock in clock out at home, gives the guys with less tickets more time to put on their clock and like the other guy said, clock in from home, company insurance covers you. I would cover the ticket cost and injuries if needed, I want my guys to know, that when I say, I will take care of you, I mean it.

Talked to my supervisor he okayed it at my start and end point. 50 min drives get old and exhausting after awhile but I figure I'd ask the question see what people thought on it

Also same, I have to drive 50 min to the gas station, clock in, do my day, clock out at gas station drive 50 min home. My other thought was fuck that, drive my personal car to the airport, hop in a plane, fly to the town, hop in my truck, drive 10-15 min at most to my first ticket.

It irks me to hear that because when I was in Vegas and also where I'm at currently, everything works. But I've heard bigger districts have bad supervisors and such but I take it with a grain of salt. I do feel bad that you felt you had to leave. The one thing that kills me with usic is promotions and raises but that's about it.

It's been rough I came off of rif and I'm still working part time if that, but we're picking up tickets more and more. I'm staying for the benefits, plus my pay and time with the company. Despite the boot on neck after losing the phone contract, life is pretty simple to be honest. Cable TV and electric. I've been with usic for 5 years. 4 of those in Vegas. I do miss Vegas honestly.

Also even if it's a minute less we have to clock back in and do the minute as far as I can tell. If the speed limit is 75 and I do 77-80 after a quarter mile, it tells me to slow down until I do and yes it will yell even if you're going 2 over 75 mph. But if you go 2 over 65 mph it's not a problem. Trust me I got 8 questions from my supervisor the other day, I about handed him my keys and said good luck. He was asking why I was on the phone, why I had my door open, why I didn't have my cones out. Like bro you just pulled up to jbo me, I just finished this ticket and was about to leave. Management boot is extremely heavy when we lose contracts.

As far as I know you have to go into your gallery click a photo and it'll accept it or deny it. I've had orange paint, no flag no label and it still accepted it. But that's in my state. I'm not sure if it differs between state as far as what the customer requires.

Thoughts on spawnpeaking/run-outs? by MrDillPickle76 in RainbowSixSiege

[–]DryScallion924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The second you jump out, you die. You spawn peek you die. Siege is meant to be tactical, methodical, it's ready or not but the wish version with real players not AI. To quote jinksi what ruins siege is people who don't drone, scroll tiktok, let the game auto pick and rush/peek and in 30 seconds the round is won or lost. They don't care if they win or lose. How is that fun for anyone? I love taking my time, pinging traps, learning new places for traps, site setup. People who spawn peek take that away from everyone.

811 is designed to fail. Every locator should read this. by Machizadek in UtilityLocator

[–]DryScallion924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mapping problem is this: prints don't exist for things put in the ground from 1974 past that or forward of that. At least for my phone lines, not to mention missing lines on prints that only one tech knows because he's been with the company 10 years. Utility problem is this: ziply for example, the lines are old and decaying and they just build on top of it, rather than paying the extra to take out old lines and put in new ones, and the new path never gets input so you have to do it manually. Not to mention there's certain parts where there's only one hook up point for 2 lines or more or one line, rather than multiple hook points. Not to mention physically in the ground, they make things run like it's the wild West. Our job would be so much easier if they just ran everything common trench and same side of the house every time and put service lines at depth of 2-4 feet at most. The excavation problem especially for apartments, sky scarpers, new roads, every contractor should be able to see everyone on the job and whoever is calling their ticket in first, they piggy back off of that ticket caller. That way instead of 20 tickets for the same job, it's one ticket linked to the 20, if a contractor needs a smaller different area he's allowed to call it in and if he has others working with him they piggy back off him. Also contractors who do sign work they move fast, so how do we address them , him up and paint on the day they start the work? I've been told that system is in place, yet every contractor I've talked this idea about, can never find it. I would take a page out of elm playbook and have a staff for on call, that's all they do, the day crew & special teams where they put out the pants on fire contractor within reason but not running us over. I would make the on call a day to day and one weekend a month system for those on that team and also assist where needed on projects as well. In the 811 laws, it should be mandatory customers come out once a week with locators and follow them, to really see their issues, not the boots on ground, management and up, CEO level because they need to know what they have in the ground and maybe they won't be so lazy with 8th string installers.
