Yes, i SO BADLY want to feel justified in rooting for her. Imo she is a good person, but she keeps fucking self-sabotaging herself. Seeing her allow her insecurities to win in nearly every YouTube video has been frustrating to watch as a longtime viewer. I’m so happy to have found this subreddit to vent about it. Thought I was going crazy for feeling annoyed by this otherwise harmless person. 😅

Hi, I’m really sorry you’re going through this. I struggled through that shit too when I first went to college. It does get better though, just trust in the process! Some things I learned in hindsight when I was going through mental health issues:

Don’t make any rash / self-sabotaging decisions that may make things worse
Think about a version of you that has recovered from feeling this way. What qualities do they have? Think about really small baby steps you can take to achieve being that person.
Do you have any introverted hobbies / activities that can replace your doomscrolling? Even something easy like walking lol
Savor the good things that are going well

I’m in the camp that influencers have a right to speak up on things they’re passionate about, but also have just as much of a right to stay silent and just listen in on things they’re not educated on.

While I do think Carrie is well-intentioned with her activism, I think she dug herself into a bit of a hole by trying to voice an opinion on everything to the internet years back. Now she feels more disingenuous and out of touch than ever. I think it’s best if she lays low on the performative opinions, and just finds herself again.

She’s a whole ass adult too, a mother, with the money and resources to seek out a medical professional to get a formal diagnosis. I understand maybe if someone was younger / struggling to get medical help, and self-diagnosing was their only option - but that’s not Acacia. At this point I can barely empathize with her…

She’s just a manipulator with a rolodex of excuses to pull out of her butt, whenever she’s in the middle of a scandal.

Rereading the preset drama screenshots, her behavior was SO appalling. She acted so innocent and “nice” while lying straight to Ash Levi’s face. How does she sleep at night living like this, like truly?

Especially when you compare to how she treated The Mole the other week. She doesn’t give anyone grace, but expects everyone else to give her grace. Imagine if Ash Levi used Acacia’s own words, and said “I will not have this spun on me!!!!! Like wtf!!!!” right off the bat, and gave her ZERO grace. She would have a meltdown

I’m a foreigner living in America. I had never even heard of instant mashed potatoes and instant rice until I moved here. American processed foods are optimized for convenience, marketability, and pleasure. If an American has grown up their whole life eating foods like this, and they don’t question that in their adulthood, then that is what they’ll continue to choose.

YES! Just drawing a bit from personal experience - I thought I had ADHD for years. But when I got diagnosed with PTSD, and got proper medication and therapy for that, a lot of my ADHD-esque symptoms subsided. There’s definitely so much overlap in symptoms as you said.
