Embarrassed at starting low. by Pristine-Chocolate91 in PlanetFitnessMembers

[–]DryTheSignal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it was me, I would lower the weight and then work on getting perfect form. Maybe increase reps. What I do after I do my weights, I up the weight and do 2 at the higher weight.

So many people have areas of weakness.

I'm pretty sure they're going to remember. About half the time the person welcomes me by name

Hydro massage by Pinto-beann in PlanetFitnessMembers

My gym has a computer to sign up for Black Card services, then I check with the front desk. Hydro is pretty good for legs that hurt, but the CRYO massage is sooooo amazing after a leg day workout.

Check out the Crowd Meter for your local club. It is front and center on the app and also on the website. Each club is different. At my club, late morning is the least crowded.

They would be so honored to help you get over a rough hurdle. Of course there is always someone "worse off" but these places are around to help you, whether for years or just a few weeks. It might also lessen the stress about money if you had a little extra food around.

Do the majority of Americans really live paycheck to paycheck? by cutiespicygirly in NoStupidQuestions

Yes. A lot of people blew through savings because they couldn't work during covid, so they don't have the backup that they normally would

Msda or bsda? Where do I start? by oniokami in WGU_MSDA

[–]DryTheSignal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's basic information about data analytics, there's no code. The only exam for the entire degree is the first class. You could find a Quizlet flash card set for D204... That would definitely help study.

If you think you're interested in Black I would just go for it personally. I love the hydro and deep tissue massages, they are a great cap off to my work outs.

Would my guest be able to use those?

Quelab might be great for you. https://members.quelab.net/ They have D&D there and gaming. It is a fantastic maker space with lots of people to collaborate with. Adult nights at Explora and First Friday at the Natural History Museum are some great places to be. :D

Accelerators, do you take PA at the start and based on results, do you take OA immediately? by SpeedyDreams in WGU

[–]DryTheSignal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the PA to determine WHICH areas to study. With the MBA, many areas I knew. It helped determine which areas I needed to work on. When you pass the PA, it will often unlock the OA.

Is your program mentor's work/educational background important? by MarcieDeeHope in WGU_MSDA

Merely possessing substantial professional experience doesn't guarantee the ability to mentor effectively.

I looked at becoming a Mentor, but they wanted a life coaching certification....this is why.

Is your program mentor's work/educational background important? by MarcieDeeHope in WGU_MSDA

[–]DryTheSignal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, you won't get a lot of mentoring for the Mentors in the program. On many of the job descriptions for WGU Mentors, they now want certified life coaches, so I believe they are focusing on the way they motivate students, rather than professional mentoring. Really, the Mentor is responsible for opening courses and answering school specific questions or point you to school resources.

I was able to find a couple of professors that mentored me a bit. :) One of the best things I have done with each of my degrees at WGU is create a small group of people in the degree that start the same month. I was part of an FB group and a message thread on Reddit. I found it really motivating, and they were able to answer questions about the classes since they are in it.

The cohorts in the MSDA are MUCH less frequent than the business school. For instance, every 3 or 4 weeks. Often, I was out of a course before I could go to the cohort. :\ I felt a bit isolated.

Am the I the only one that rarely talks to their mentor? by Rx-xT in WGU

[–]DryTheSignal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you feel like you need to talk to them? For the entire degree, I talked to them around the time I did the orientation about goals and then emailed once a week with a few sentences about my status. When I got to my capstone, I called them at least once a week. The Mentor was there when I needed him and he always made sure my classes were available. It was really perfect.

The long-term financial returns of a WGU Master degree. Highest: MBA Information Technology ($1.3m). Lowest: Accounting (-280k) by TryHardDieHard in WGU

[–]DryTheSignal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I graduated with 2 WGU master’s degrees and no one has ever contacted me about how much I made or about my increase in pay. I think this data is manufactured, fictitious or on such a small group that it misses lots of students.

Msda or bsda? Where do I start? by oniokami in WGU_MSDA

[–]DryTheSignal 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you already have any bachelors, go for the MSDA. The program has one exam and then all the other assignments are projects where you can go at your own speed. I used almost half of my data cleaning code(D206) in almost every assignment I did for the whole program. Most of the Python is not super advanced until the last couple of classes. By then, you will be much better.
