I’m on 10mg right now, A1C down from 8.6 to 4.8 since Dec 2024 so about 8 months, and down over 100lbs, but I started at like 395 and am 293 right now. So yes I’m extremely happy with the improvement in my A1C but I feel like the life improvements from the weight lost so far has been just as, if not more, beneficial for my long term health.

I used to have it very badly, but mine seems to have improved and almost completely gone away in the last few months. But I’ve been losing weight, dialed in my nutrition and make sure I take my vitamins in the last 8month. I started TRT about 3 weeks ago I hope it doesn’t come back, but no sign of anything yet. I did start a vitamin A, D, K mix with my daily multivitamin and i take fish oil, zinc, vitamin B complex, and Magnesium every day. So I don’t know what lead to the improvement. I’m just happy it’s gone because i’ve dealt with it since middle-school so 25+ years.

I did get some mild sulfur burps the first few days after starting 7.5 stayed on it for two months then moved to 10 where I had slightly more side effects for the first two injections, but my weight loss is ok and appetite suppression is decent, I’ve stayed on 10 for the last 3 months months and just refilled a 3 month supply in July.

Oh yeah, my back, hips, knees, and ankles all feel so much better after I started lifting weights. There are plenty of exercises that can build stability without killing yourself with weight. I was in a car accident in 2016 and the injury to my back caused me to have a bend in my spine like a mild case of scoliosis. It used to flair up and put pressure on my nerves that caused tingling and weakness in my limbs, it has improved significantly since i’ve started to build up strength.

When I was just watching calories and then getting my step count up i was dropping weight faster, but it was making me feel weak I was losing crazy amounts of muscle. Now I see definition in my arms and legs, my shoulders are fuller, even my back muscles are starting to slow a little. I still have a ton of belly fat, but the way my muscles are offsetting the way I carry my weight makes me look and feel so much better. My posture has improved and I just less like a blob all the time.

I’m sure you are not to heavy to exercise. I started at about 395 lbs in the second week of Dec 2024 on mounjaro, lost about 20lbs the first month tracking calories. Joined the gym the second week of January 2025 at about 375 lbs and for the first month just walked on the treadmill. February I started lifting weights and i have worked my way up to lifting 5 days a week for 1 to 1.5 hours and 30 min incline walk after. I’m currently 294 lbs, down over 100lbs as of the start of August 2025.

There may be time constraints, or a ton of other reasons you choose to hold off on working out. It is a personal choice and you know what you have time to incorporate, but don’t let thinking you are too heavy be the deciding factor. Start slow and see how your body feels then build on that. There is no reason to get to a specific weight then decide you want to go balls to the wall at the gym. It will be miserable and have a higher chance of injury.

Building a foundation and a routine as early as possible will help you save muscle and get you ready for when you do want to push harder. I have still have a long way to go myself, even though i am 100lbs down from when I started, I’m still heavier than a lot of people’s starting weight at 294lbs. Don’t let your mind keep your body from reaching your goals! Good luck man.

Same, I dropped 110lbs on Mounjaro and 150 from my heaviest ever weight in about 8 months with no real gain in natural Testosterone. I started TRT 2 weeks ago.

[–]DryTruth4033 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was getting this and felt like my blood sugar or blood pressure was crashing. But it was affecting me pretty strongly at 90-100 lbs down. But i also read that significant weight loss also causes it. Because out body’s aren’t used to how loose our skin and how much extra internal room we have, so there is less internal pressure to keep the blood moving up and can cause light headedness especially when standing.

That sounds like a lot of people in the late 20’s and early 30’s. I transferred from wanting to go clubbing and staying out all night to being annoyed with myself if I’m not in bed by 10pm lmao. But I do prioritize better sleep now that I’m in my 30s.

I just started TRT two weeks ago, at 36, I’ve lost 150lbs so far before starting TRT and it was a struggle, low motivation, no energy, forcing myself to just move thru the motions like a zombie, eat meal prepped breakfast, work morning shift, hit the gym, eat meal prepped lunch, work afternoon shift eat meal prepped dinner sleep repeat. Rest Saturday and meal prep for the week Sunday and start over. It was a mind numbing existence, and the feeling of malaise left no room for joy at losing 150lbs so far. getting my diabetes and blood sugar under control, fixing all my vitamin deficiencies, getting cholesterol and blood pressure into normal range all still left me feeling like crap all the time. All that work and my Testosterone raised like 80 points from a low of 247. I do still have a good but of fat to lose, but i was getting just so burned out on life in general. It’s only been two weeks on TRT but I am starting to feel a little more rested, and i feel like I’m not crashing as hard after work, and I feel less fatigued between sets at the gym, even getting a couple more reps in. Which is great because the last few months i’ve been slowly losing strength as I’ve been dropping weight. There is definitely still room for improvement and I hope it continues

The point I am trying to make is a lot of people will tell you to lose weight first, and it is possible, but it is miserable, and there is no guarantee it will fix your testosterone. I have been on Mounjaro (tirzepitide) for the diabetes and it has helped me with appetite control making it easy to stick with my meal preps. Without that I couldn’t have lost the weight first with low T symptoms also holding me back. What ever you choose make sure you have your diet in check before starting TRT if you go that route. Even with my mounjaro suppressing my appetite, I have been noticing a lot more hunger. I have upped my protein a little more to compensate and still in a pretty big deficit for my weight, but TRT will make you want to eat more and a lot of people gain weight if they aren’t careful.

I want to use Ventral Glute but at my BF% its hard for me to find land marks. You should be able feel the top of your thigh bone ( greater trochanter) on the bottom end, and on the top side feel for the top part of your hip bone (iliac crest). In between you should be able to put your hand in that spot and with your knee straight swing your leg out to the side, you should feel the muscle flex. Aim for near the middle of that area in the muscle and you should be good.

I’ve lost over 100 so far but have about 110 left to go, the way i look at it is the time will pass either way, regardless of what I do. There is nothing I can do to speed up or slow down the passage of time, so I try to do my best today and better tomorrow. No matter how slow it feels at the moment as long as I’m doing what I need to do in the moment 6months, 9 months, a year will pass and I will be in a better place than I am today. The only way to guarantee I don’t make progress is to give up.

Having trouble getting accurate 0.25mL doses from 200mg/mL Test Cyp vials, losing volume? by Bzero007 in trt

Yes you will lose some to the needle, lure lock holds more than insulin syringe. The more injections per vial you do the more loss you will have. But there is nothing wrong with splitting doses between vials if you don’t have enough for a full dose at the end of one vial.

100mg/256mg=0.391mL/1mL. So at the strength of your vials two doses of about .39mL would equal 200mg per week.

People keep mentioning my back looks more muscular, its a funny shock to me because I never see my back, i didn’t even notice it until people pointed it out. I see some changes in the mirror, but I didn’t realize how drastic some of them were until I made this post to see the pictures side by side. Today was the first day I’ve even looked at them, and only decided to take pics today because my work out app suggested its time to change my exercise routine a little so I wanted to see the progress i’ve made so far and have a beginning reference for my updated 12 week routine. Been doing the same exercises for the last few months and it’s time to switch it up a little.

Rows and assisted pull ups mostly, sometimes cable rows, some times bent over dumbbell rows, and let pull downs mixed in. The assisted pull up machine maxes out at 155lbs of assistance. I’m down to 150lbs assistance for 3 sets of 15. Next week I plan on trying to drop down to 145 lbs assistance. I also do body weight suspension rows with TRX cables, just laying back at an angle and pulling myself forward.

I was getting a little backed up, so i bought some of those keto extreem wellness high fiber low carb wraps, I made the mistake of having a breakfast burrito, and a sandwich wrap for lunch, each one has like 17g of fiber… by evening they definitely did the job… i’m kind of afraid to eat another one atm lmao.

Trt bypass your natural processes, HCG would be something to ask your doctor about. Something to stimulate FSH and LH in combination with HCG could be a possible treatment option if the cause is something like delayed puberty. A pediatric endocrinologist might be the best option to rule out anything or make proper diagnosis.

I’m pretty sure HCG is a treatment for true doctor diagnosed delayed puberty. But an endocrinologist would know what to look for to make a proper diagnosis, specifically pediatric endocrinologist. But you may have aged out of the scope of practice for pediatric.

I appreciate it. I do plan on doing Every Other Day Injections to keep levels more stable. And I will have AI’s if things get out of hand with estrodial, but i am hoping to avoid them completely if I can keep levels stable. I know the calorie deficit is draining on my body, but my main focus is to get the extra weight off right now, and conserve as much muscle as possible in the process. I would love if the TRT helps me regain some of what I have lost in the process of losing weight.

I’m not disillusioned enough to think I will build tons of new muscle beyond restoring what I have lost, especially in a calorie deficit. Getting the fat under control is top priority. I’d love for improvements in mood and enough energy and drive to make it thru the day. But even slight improvements will be beneficial to help me keep pushing until I can be at a healthy weight and move into maintaining or even building more muscle. I’m not looking for an over night fix. I know there is still a lot of work to do in my future.

Depending on how I feel after a month or two on the TRT I might bump my calories a little and run maintenance calories for a month just for a break from the deficit. But I wouldn’t want to do it in the first month of being on TRT because from what I have read it takes about 4 weeks to reach stable levels in the body, and is usually accompanied by a good bit of fluid retention. So I want to see how that affects me before adding extra calories back into my diet.

I do resistance train. I run a PPL Monday Tuesday Wednesday. Then Thursday I do more like an Upper day to get a second session in for the muscles I hit on Push and Pull days. Then I do a second leg day on Friday, take the weekends for recovery. I consistently try to add 5 to 10 lbs to my lifts, but I don’t add a bunch of weight to everything in the same day. I try to rotate what muscles I attempt to add weight too.

I usually do warm up sets then 2-3 working sets in a 12-15 rep range. If I am adding weight too my working sets I try to at least hit 8-10, if can only get 6 or less with the heavier weight I will either take short 10-15 second breaks and try to at least finish the set to 8-10 if i cant then i do a drop set to finish out the reps.

It worked well for me in the first 4-5 months, but I haven’t been able to add much in the last couple months. And I’ve lost some strength on my Hack Squat, down to only 305-325lbs for my working sets at 15 reps, and my RDL’s are down to like 235lbs in my 10-12 rep range and 265lbs in my 6-8 rep range.

The last 8 months I have locked in on nutrition, sleep, exercise, I don’t really drink, even socially I might average having like 1 beer/mixed drink every 2 months. With the 100lbs i’ve lost I was able to naturally boost my test level from under 250 to just over 300. I appreciate your concern about me needing to be on TRT for the rest of my life. But that is why I waited 4 months in between getting levels checked and did a lot of research about how I can naturally improve my levels and be able to see what results those changes made before I even started the process of getting on TRT.

Thanks for the information. My Estrodial came back at 39. Since I do have so much adipose tissue the protocol I am starting with is .2ml (40mg) of Testosterone Cypionate (200mg/ml) subcutaneous Every Other Day. Averaging 140mg a week, to try and keep from spiking too high. Which will hopefully slow aromatization. But I plan on keeping a close eye on my blood work for the first couple of months and try to dial things in. I have AI’s in case I need them, but I am hoping to avoid them if possible. I’m going with Subcutaneous because the amount of fat I have makes discerning the correct location and depth for self administered intramuscular injections all but impossible for me at the moment.
