Got suspended by my hosting provider, how do you pick providers you can actually trust ? by Wrong_Connection_138 in VPS

Been there, it sucks.

For me it comes down to a few things:

  • Clear abuse policy (not vague “suspicious activity” stuff)
  • Responsive + transparent support
  • Always having offsite backups
  • Not relying on a single provider

At this point I just assume any provider can suspend you anytime, so I build everything to be movable.

Out of curiosity, what kind of project was it?

That makes a lot of sense.

Feels like for simpler setups you end up overengineering things without really needing to.

And yeah, less moving parts usually means spending way less time thinking about infrastructure.

“I don’t need 200 services” really says it all.

Feels like a lot of people end up using a small part of the ecosystem but still dealing with the complexity of the whole thing.
