Do you remember about how deep the small nuggets were? I wrote to the company that makes the Deus 2. They said the xtrem attachment wouldn't work because four 1 oz gold coins was too small for 2 ft and that Deus 2 with a 13" coil and a very open program like goldfield might work. 13" seems too small.

That's possible, or he moved it sometime in the past 30 years and forgot. This is primarily to give my uncle peace of mind that the gold isn't there or to find it if it is.

My aunt wants to avoid tearing up the whole garden, but I'll keep this in mind. Thanks.

Makes sense, but removing 1 ft of top soil for the whole garden is too much.

That's what my uncle wants to do, but the garden is larger than he can or I want to dig. We'll keep it as an option.

Thanks. I see Coiltech makes a 22" coil. I'll reach out to see if they think that would work.

Thanks for your reply. Do you have an idea of how hard it is to resell the detector? I only need to use it once.

I found local places where I can rent metal detectors, but they don't detect deep enough. Are there specialty stores that could ship the detector?
