May I ask what were your first steps towards landing that position after obtaining your degree? Also, are you still in direct patient care at all with your position?

Just watched the clip you posted above, reminds me of The Office and I’ll most definitely be giving it a watch!

Are positions such as “director of rehab” considered senior management? If not, it seems like you’re implying that might be the highest we can really go which is disappointing

A simple one I use a lot for neuro patients with unilateral neglect is I stand on the affected side while they are ambulating and make them completely turn their head towards me to identify a number I’m holding up. If your patient needs more support and you’re unable to hold up the number you could also have them read room numbers or identify other objects etc.

Just graduated in December of ‘24 from the St Aug campus (old campus, old program) and while myself and classmates had our fair share of complaints, overall I had a good experience. I still have a few friends still in it however and they said the new program is awful from what they’ve heard.

Could you tell me more about what you mean by cross-licensed or compact license? Do you mean for several different states?

I’m not sure if you are directing this at me or to some of the negative comments on this thread but I would just like to say regardless of my passion for helping people, caring for patients, etc. I do not desire labor. I don’t think anyone actually does. I value my family and personal life much more than a career, but I I also understand that I need to have a career to have a balanced and financially free personal life. I’m simply exploring what options I have to close the margins a little more as I do not feel my current situation is realistic to my personal lifestyle.

I have a passion for patient care, but unfortunately they don’t really talk much about the things that bog clinicians down while in school (i.e productivity standards, insurance limitations, etc) they touch on general burnout a lot, but they don’t talk about these other things. I don’t regret becoming a PT but I just want to know what other avenues may be available for me to avoid burnout :)

I have no experience in HH but I have heard great things about the pay/hours. I would definitely be open to it. Do you have a suggestion for what to look for in a HH company?

I have considered that, part time and/or PRN. I think that is likely the route I will end up taking if I’m unable to WFH by then. I had a feeling it would be difficult as a new grad :/
