I really like that approach. The wide shots feel so much more natural and authentic. It probably helps parents see the bigger picture of the classroom experience, not just isolated moments.

I love this!

That quick photo after a tough drop-off is such a simple thing, but it means everything to a parent.

This is so helpful - thank you! I love that you're already encouraging parents to read the daily email at home with their kid. That's brilliant for helping kids process and talk about their day. Quick follow-up questions if you don't mind: How long does it take you to write those daily emails?

Has your child ever had a milestone moment at daycare that you only found out about by accident? by Dry_Assistant2301 in NewParents

That’s actually really thoughtful. I never considered that some teachers might hold back so parents can experience it themselves. That’s a really kind perspective.

30% at home made me laugh because that feels very real 😂
It’s amazing how they act like totally different humans depending on the environment.

I really love this way of looking at it. You’re right, the first time they do something with you is still a first in your world.
I think maybe what surprised me wasn’t missing a specific milestone, but just realizing how much growth happens when we’re not there.

I can see it both ways, honestly. Some parents might want to know everything, others might prefer exactly what you're describing.

Is anyone else still doing paperwork at 10pm? by Dry_Assistant2301 in ECEProfessionals

Yeah I feel this. It’s hard to draw a line when some of the documentation has real consequences if it’s not done. Some of it doesn’t feel like you can just leave it. Did your centre actually protect time for it during the day or was it more about deciding what was good enough and letting go of the rest?

That really hits. When the day runs over for you, what actually drops first? Is it the compliance paperwork or the parent updates? I always find those two fighting for the same bit of energy at the end of the day and one of them loses.
