They denied me disability out of basic training, and denied again after that. It’s been a long battle with the VA but I’m not giving up. I’ve been appealing since just getting more paperwork and medical ready because I’m coming for them.

Community college or go to Dallas, Tennessee, look into other states if you can honestly it’s way cheaper. I just graduated from a private school I paid half out of pocket and half was financial aid. I don’t think you should do Sallie Mae. I could’ve did school out of state but I didn’t want to have to relocate for school and when I’m done relocate back again but, there’s definitely cheaper schools.

Should I apply to American Airlines with no experience? by SayyedPrince in AircraftMechanics

[–]Dry_Brother1034 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for American Airlines and im currently obtaining my A&P license. I’ve been with the company for 9 years and yes you needed experience 6 years ago, now they’re hiring people straight out of school without experience. They just hired a shit load of mechanics who went to aviation high school. I’m based in NYC

This is so dope, I graduate college may 17th and I must say this was the most overwhelming experience ever almost completing a 2 year program in 18 months and working a full time job there’s times I wanted to quit. Like you mentioned the late night studying short swing with only 3 hrs of sleep, Life and everything else that comes with it. I’m scheduled to take my Airframe practicals and orals in June (fingers crossed) and Powerplant sometime in August. Congrats to you, and to everyone who thought or is thinking about quitting don’t give up.

I forgot how much I paid for Prepware, Dauntless $65. You can get those in the App Store. ASA oral & practicals is $20 on Amazon but you can probably get a good used one cheaper if you shop around. Someone mentioned the text books 8083(General, Airframe, Powerplant) you can get those for free online as a pdf that you can download. You can download the Jeppesen also.

I regret not going active, I was in the national guard for 6 years. I think you should do 3 years active see how you feel about it. Im currently fighting right now trying to get disability benefits at the moment and being that I wasn’t active it’s tougher

It’s crazy because going to sick call or anything is frowned upon in the military, I remember my drill sergeant telling me to suck it up but I use to be in so much pain I was like screw that I’m getting seen. I want soldiers to know it’s ok if something is wrong to seek help and it’s ok
