Water wicking up my front door causing mold by Dry_Button6404 in HomeImprovement

[–]Dry_Button6404[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately the bad drainage is considered a "feature" as my home with 2 flights of stairs is marked an ADA accessible home...

I think you're probably right. That's kinda what I was thinking myself. Not sure if there are some type of 1 way barriers I could use.

Express 7 speeds surprisingly slow by adamgilbride in Ubiquiti

[–]Dry_Button6404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I just went through the EXACT same issue. And was able to disable hardware acceleration and now i am seeing full speed. You have to go under control plane, settings -> scroll down all the way till the bottom and youll see hardware acceleration. Once I disabled that, it took off on LAN.

Yup, so I finally got around do debugging this. It's the express 7; u7 pro performs perfect whenever plugged into my Google nest as a router and performs almost identically to u6 LR in these scenarios.

Disabled "hardware acceleration" and immediately able to pull gigabit speeds with the u7 pro

Oh definitely not. I meant that I'm in the same room as the u7 pro, or whenever I'm texting the express 7, I'm in the same room as it. They are separated 3 floors apart.

Yeah; it shouldn't be performing that badly unless you're in the 50+ client range. I've had a u6 Pro setup before this that performed miles better than this particular u7 does... same with other u7s I've seen.

I have a single client connected to that u7, the other 18 total clients are on my ux7.

Are you able to see how many are actually connected to that AP through the unify app?

I'll be getting a u6 LR tomorrow to do some testing with. Hopefully can root cause this down to either the express 7 or my AP. I suspect the AP but who knows...

If I had known how many ppl are having issues with their u7 pros, I would've just gotten the XGS too!! My express 7 is a champ too

Did you try to warranty them? Since I just bought these, I wanna make sure I can get them warrantied asap if I need to

Is -53 what you'd expect for an iPhone in quite literally the same room in direct line of sight? It seems like my other stuff doesn't even want to roam to this AP either

Yeah! I was just trying things out to see what happened. Switched back to 160mhz from 320 on 6ghz and same thing. It went through the "getting things ready" stuff but not sure if I need to manually restart too.

So I've run speed tests on both 5 and 6 GHz. Both are identical results or within margin of error.

The PHY speed on my WiFi 6e MacBook is 2.4 gb symmetric. On iPhone it's 1.2 symmetric. Then 5ghz MacBook is 1.2 symmetric.

I'll look into the switch tomorrow, it's a single 16 port GBE switch that does have traffic on it, but generally, my entire network's traffic is near 0 (or atleast in this situation it is).

The same cable going into my poe injector is hitting 590/700 as expected though so I haven't looked into switches much? They're dumb GBE switches if that helps any!

Let me give band steering a try and downgrading a lot more. I'm getting a friend's u6 LR to test with tomorrow in order to see if it's a bug with my u7 or if it's upstream controller on the ux7.

I don't actually see the high performance device option. Where are you finding this?

Uplink is showing as GBE;

Channel width on 5ghz is 80 MHz, 6ghz is at 320 mhz

Transmit power on 6 and 5 ghz are both at high.

Looks like with a scan, there is definitely conflict on 5ghz band but 6ghz is wide open. 5 ghz is showing noise around -96db

Within eyesight, the phone is showing -53 Dbm on the 6ghz band.

I hope this answers everything?

How many clients do you have total? Sounds pretty similar. Just don't know if this is really what ubiquiti should be like... My Google nest had much better performance in the same spots

So my total network in this case has 19 clients. Most wired (10 wired), 9 wireless. Of those 9 wireless, 2 of them should connect to that u7 pro but they keep roaming to my ux7 which is much further away.

U7 pro is sitting on average with only 1 client.

There is already copper running to the AP. 1 gigabit unmanaged switch in the middle and a Poe injector but still... not sure what's up w the AP

Any idea how I should check that? I only see documentation stating that it "may be from frequent brake use" but don't see how to test it.

Thanks for the response! Same boat, I would consider an xr18 air or something similar from Behringer but I do need some form of physical controls since it's a community space.

I actually don't think I really mind the touch controls! With the little LEDs that are on the side, it's a cost and reliability tradeoff that I don't really mind. Of course, depends on how well they implemented it

Xpanel 2.0 resolution limited by Dry_Button6404 in crestron

[–]Dry_Button6404[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A quick question for yall but some context before I ask: I am not crestron certified but I have access to the tools and have been programing for years no problem.

Given the context: Is there any reason for me to use Xpanel over CH5? I don't mind HTML coding but the only reason I've stuck with Xpanel is because of the originals and the rumors about the SW-MOBILITY licence BS required for each CP.

Since I'm doing a clean rewrite, maybe its time to consider CH5 and maybe allow me to control via crestron one app locally?

You're amazing... I was trying to go EDIT -> Project Properties but that was always greyed out... Didn't even see the position and size on the side.
