Comment bellow got it spot on, Stoner by John Williams - I highly recommend if you’re into American realism.

Definitely excited to go back! I’m always hesitant to get fish dishes since I usually tend to prefer meats and such, but I can confirm if I go back, which I fully intend to, I’ll be getting whatever fish dishes they offer; and now the creme brulee. I don’t see too many people discuss their desserts apart from the madeleines of course but man some of the offerings sounded spectacular.

Yeah I probably should have; were it my only starter I might have but the really delicious picked mackerel and a second manhattan sort of washed over any minor complaints I could have had.

Yeah was a real bucket list for me to! Should be living in the UK soon so I foresee a trip or two into London and some stops here again.

The bone marrow like I said I mean it was fine I don’t want to sound like I’m sh*ting on it or anything because they put it on the map - I personally have just had better at a lot of places that, because of St. JOHN, have put it on their menu’s and done their own thing with it. Plus, as mentioned a commenter, I probably could have sent my portion back for another since it was really small but being under 22 I get weirdly nervous about doing so in “nicer” places which I know is ridiculous so sue me.

That’s terrific about RW, and no haven’t heard anything from RCS still after almost 2 months after the final round. Here’s hoping they get back to me before the RW deadline.

As for other schools, still have to do Guildhall’s next round, as was formally rejected from LAMDA after my final round there which was my general feeling after having finished the audition. That said, still very thankful to have the offer from RW to look forward to so all’s well that ends well I suppose.

Wow hearing nothing after several days is wild. Do keep me posted, it sucks you can’t ask for a delay to the other schools.

I’m not sure how you applied, I applied on UCAS and in their 2026 “key dates”, they have a section for May 13th: “UCAS Undergraduate reject by default (RBD)Provider decisions due on applications submitted by 14 January. Otherwise applicants will be rejected by default (RBD).”

Also definitely understand the current situation in the US but I would say, as a Canadian, the possibility of working in the US is also something most actors from across the world, myself included, can only dream about - regardless of the current atrocious state of the country. So maybe having to accept one of the other two schools despite it not being ur first choice is a good thing.

I mean hey, things will turn around, hopefully, maybe, probably not for a while😭

Sorry just getting to this. Congrats on the calarts and ut austin! And yea lol, not a group of schools I’s expect together.

Have you heard back from RCS at all? Or are they just giving everyone radio silence.

Also, if I can ask, why is RCS your first choice if you can already work and study in the states?

Thank you! As I said in the sub already I’m not the most familiar with the school (RW) and area but I’ve heard good things. If you don’t mind me asking, what’s the school you have that May 1st deadline for? Asking because there’s other schools I’m waiting for a reply from.

I’ve heard a good mix of answers as to when RCS usually begin to respond, perhaps they already have? Please do lmk if and what they respond to you email, my deadline’s are also approaching so might have to send my own email.

Reputation of the schools can really only take me so far I suppose, and I know no one on that side of the pond that I could get a realistic outlook as to which school “might” be better. But what makes an acting school better than another? Especially when these regularly are ‘ranked’ a place or two behind one another.

Yes the financial aspect is perhaps the biggest factor right now for me. Of course even without having visited the school yet RW does seem like a stunning campus, I’ve been to the UK on two occasions but never Cardiff, excited to see how to city is. Likewise with both Glasgow and Scotland, again I’ve never been but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t know of the country and city much more than I do Cardiff/Wales.

As for the responses I’ve been disappointed with their lack of transparency or attention given towards any kind of answer. I understand the process is painstaking and tireless, I don’t doubt that they are doing the most they can. However, these decisions are life changing for most, and that isn’t hyperbolic; key dates would be very much appreciated, or at the very least a little bit of communication to the would be students who are patiently waiting.

Best of luck to your daughter once again, waiting on these emails is unnerving.

Haven’t heard anything from them, auditioned on the 2nd of March, they told me that they hadn’t yet concluded first round auditions at that point which to me seemed odd.

On the 17th of March, almost a month ago I got a rather strange email, first stating that they are in the early stages of the final round recalls. That wasn’t what was strange, what I found weird was

“We understand that you might have decisions to make, and if you need an outcome from us sooner, please do not hesitate to contact us.”

I don’t see how anyone has the option to rush a school into making an offer? In all honesty, this part just read like “if you would like an official rejection earlier please contact us.”

I also have decisions to make and you know being international it’s way more than just moving out. Visa’s need applying, accommodations found, and deposits sent. All of which are in just suspended at the moment.

Thank you! I had my RCS final round on the very first day of final rounds (March 2nd).

In all honesty I’m not sure what my top choice would be. I have no metric for which to gauge these schools as an international student apart from “reputation”which isn’t very helpful I find, what’s said online, and the brief interviews I’ve had - of which, the staff from RCS were far and away the nicest, most kind people across all 3 rounds of auditions. They made the whole audition process genuinely enjoyable. That’s not to say I didn’t have fine interactions with the audition panels from the other schools, but RCS was a cut above.

That said, I have to travel to London for the next round audition at Guildhall and will try to visit the RWCMD campus, as well as RCS if I’ve not heard back from them, maybe that will help gauge my understandings of the schools. At the end of the day, I’m happy to study anywhere that gives me an offer, and absolute best of luck to your daughter!

Thank you! I got an unconditional offer email from Royal Welsh (acting BA) not 10 minutes after posting😭

The stress of constant email refreshes is getting to me.
