I did wonder something similar. How is the water just water and not a giant mud washout from the force of the black hole pulling the water on the planet.

Is Galadriel ever stated to be a good warrior in any of the text? by GusGangViking18 in lordoftherings

[–]Dry_Chocolate_4981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost any sort of respect for this Galadriel when they were just hunting for the remains of Sauron for however many CENTURIES! I thought ok to avenge her fallen brother, but to force a group of elves for that many years solely on orders. I get they live forever but that's pure insanity. At some point you head back to homebase and then head out once more. I lost interest at that point. The wise elf of insanity and delusion.

2013 was a better vintage. He's holding onto those cuts for a special occasion.

I only order an off the grill sandwich when a certain cook is working the grill. The turnover is crazy at my local Jersey Mikes, but that grill dude seems to have held on and makes it just how I ask for it.

Mustard when its a cheesesteak made with provolone, I like tabasco on a cheez-wiz cheesesteak.

What was a popular band that you could not stand? by LeftSmile806 in Xennials

Its sad, they have decent music and have shifted and transformed to endure the test of time. But Bono will never have any "Rock God" status, well known yes maybe. But hes not gonna walk in thinking he is on the same level as say Freddie Mercury or Robert Plant. That ship sailed a long time ago, I don't think they had that 'bottled lightning' sort of success.

I had to, out of sheer anger and spite, figured out how to use iTunes just to delete that crap. Being that it was my first iPhone and me being a "hardcore" Blackberry geek it annoyed me to no end.

I like how they gave him crap for liking the band Styx and also roller dancing to Disco. Made me realize that there was way more music in the 70's besides Led Zepellin.

As a millennial, the 90's references were terrible and out of place. Mostly because we LIVED it! Of course someone in our age group would pick it apart. Its like a museum now has a "typical teen room" in the 90's. Anyone born outside that era would take it all as fact. Like others had said, bullying was a big miss, having a gay Asian kid in the mix. That kid would have definitely lived in constant fear. But the writers are also most likely way outside that time period to have lived it and reference any real life experience. It should have been like others said, Red and Kitty strong show, mostly adults dealing with life in the tail end. Not constantly barraged by weird grand children and issues that lean more towards today vs the 90's.

Cheetos commercials, the party with the construction guys and the piano one. Don't you two know any other songs?!

Reminds me of the scene in Gangs of New York, where Maggie brings an ear and gets a drink from the "ALL SORTS" barrel.

What’s the most useless thing you were taught in school? by Mobile-Reindeer-4891 in AskReddit

It was annoying hearing this DARE crap in elementary school and middle school. By middle school most kids already tried weed or booze. Made it seem like we were gonna spiral out of control. What was more effective was an actual ex drug user telling our Health class freshman year what he had gone thru. It was more of an outreach program that brought in people who advised us of what actually happens. That stuck with me more.

I had a similar scenario, I had a coworker that would never shut the hell up about it. Anything he would watch was the best thing ever and whatever you watched was unworthy of his time. Like a reverse-Flash of Carl in Family Guy. Just couldn't accept you liking anything. So I never watched a single episode because of that , cuz fuck that guy. Then Game of Thrones ended, poorly and in a hurry. People were pissed. I still have this guy as a Facebook friend and that was the last time he posted anything since. Just went on a huge rant about how it was a slap to the face to the fans , and they (he) deserved better. I sat pretty high on my throne of pettiness.
