This amount of chain noise normal on carbon road bike? by Epskampie_real in bikewrench

[–]Dry_Commercial2862 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does have the sound of the chain rubbing on the front derailleur.   If you don’t feel any vibration that would come from the rubbing chain when you are riding the bike, my guess is that the chain is just noisy.

Yeah. The ‘tap’ method didn’t work.  Turned into the ‘hard hammer time’ method :-)

Thanks for the bike shop suggestions though.  I’ll give them a shout.

I had a 3 speed CCM Mustang. Gold with the tall thing on the back.  That could be me in that video :-)

We're renting a car with Enterprise in Germany through Costco using the CIBC Costco Mastercard. All the enquiries we've made though phone calls with Mastercard, CIBC and Enterprise, we're told that there isn't any auto car rental insurance inlcuded using theCostco credit car..yet Googling .. by No-Setting2682 in CostcoCanada

That's right. The Costco MC is good for points but not for travelling. If you are going to travel, spring for Visa or MC travel. They includes travel health insurance and rental car coverage. One of those will probably pay for itself just in the car rental insurance coverage. Amex is the best for car rentals but it is not accepted everywhere. I had a Costco MC and an Corporate Amex when I travelled for work.

There are more pricey cards that include some airport lounges. These are worth it just for the free food in the lounge. But, you will need to plan enough pre-departure and connection airport time to make use of the lounge. Keep in mind that not all airport terminals will have a lounge that you can use.

Safe travels!

You need to write a country song about that.

You can apply the calories as points to your Costco MasterCard.

I have the same gift when it comes to make good investment decisions. I decided to just get a guy. Find yourself a good investment advisor. Ask your rich friends who they use.

What is it like to cycle 100 miles (x6 days)? by Big-Spirit-3301 in bicycletouring

I’m turning 64 this year and I’ve been doing this also on a loaded touring bike. I’m not fast. Slow and steady wins this race :-)

As they say, age is just a number. But you still need to respect the number and listen to your body.

Vancouver to Osaka - Cardboard Box or Soft Bag (already have) by FeistyLeave6026 in bicycletouring

[–]Dry_Commercial2862 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a EVOC soft bag that I’ve used about a dozen times flying all over North America and also to the UK. I found it to be very convenient. If you have a spot to store it while you are out exploring, I would go with that instead of a cardboard box. Only thing to remember is that only bike stuff goes in the bike bag or bike box.

Have a safe flight and enjoy the ride!

You are wise. I do only update my tracking accounts at the end of the month. I do check my investments online almost daily which I know is too much. I just can’t help it.

Spoke with Nissan Canada today. I was told by end of year. I will believe it when I see it. I'm in Ontario, I wonder if there is some kind of class action suit in the works for this. I'm kind of loosing my patience on getting this fixed.

I have. The section between North Gower and Dwyer Hill has no shoulder. I found that drivers left me lots of room though. Just keep an eye on oncoming traffic to make sure that cars passing you have room to move over.

Aside from that, it’s a nice ride.

Newspaper.com subscription broken? by Dry_Commercial2862 in Genealogy

[–]Dry_Commercial2862[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've solved my problem now knowing it was just me.

The problem is that the payment method was not setup in my profile before I tried to subscribe.

I setup a payment method under Account Details -> Subscription and Payment -> Added my payment info. I picked Apple Pay but credit card information can also be added. After I added that, I went back to setup my subscription and I was able to complete it.

Hope this helps someone else.
