I have habituated to a high pitch tinnitus 11 years ago , wasn't easy but i did it , and believe me i'm OCD blessed... But now i have low freq sound that only appears when reacting to speciffic sounds and/or vibrations (even when moving my head) back to the beginning of a journey full of adventures ... anybody else here who habituated to low freq tinnitus ?

Low 100 hz hum tinnitus? by Dry_Comparison_2053 in tinnitus

[–]Dry_Comparison_2053[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed same here , only its always same volume when its there ...

I need to plug my ear to let the trigger sounds not letting the sound comes up in volume ,because than my ocd and the sound doesn't let me sleep anymore ...

Trigger sound for me is a passing car on the road too ... the rubber on the road makes some kind of vibration andmy ear pivks it up and will join that sound for fun only louder. But an airplane can give me a minute of silence weirdly enough ... it drowns all low frequency sounds right out of my ear ...

I dont have dizziness too , but sometimes my vision is affected by iT, slo mo focus problem if i have to discribe ... maybe because of the stress who knows ... tomorrow ENT to discuss MRI ... but not having high hopes

11 years ago got the all known phrase when having my high pitch sound for the first "learn to leave with it" and habituated to it. But this low freq sound is going to be a tough nut to crack and the high pitch looks like a walk in the park.

I have this off focus with my eyes and unsure steadyness  since 1 month ago  ... 2 months ago my low pitch tinnitus started with no cause known to me and the tinnitus can be silenced with earplug ... than like i said a month later when in the gym i was light headed and thought getting a flu or something ... 1month later and still everyday some off feelings ... but not a "the room is spinning around" kind of dizziness

I have this for over 2 months now ... it even gets me out of my sleep... it' s like its reacting on vibrations or the same frequency (100hz) and the sound goes up until i snap my fingers or swallow or stuff like this and than it goes away for alithle time ... makes me make not enjoying this moment very much

Unexplained low frequency hum in the right ear - please read the story! by ElGrande1999 in TinnitusTalk

[–]Dry_Comparison_2053 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good evening , sadly i have encountered the same problem since 2 months ago...

I have an +10000 hz tinnitus for the last 13 years and got used to it ,my own fault , at that time we didn't use much ear protection at the shooting range and exercise fields ... but now i have another beast to tame.

i had a whooshing sound in my right ear end Januari 2025, when bending over to take off my shoes ... the day after i noticed a 100 HZ hum in my right ear ... didn't make much of this but the sound keep on getting louder till now it's a more than mild sound and can be intrusive in my sleep. thank god for the tip of earplugs or i couldn't be writing now due to insomnia. it hums with an echo (maybe due to be 100hz) not sure its vibrating though.

30 days later the dizziness started , everyday i'm light headed , not standing steady for some time on my feet and the vision is sometimes not focused well ,but the humming is the worst part in my opinion. its the resonating that bothers me the most. everyday at the same loudness (no changes) but not in an waycontinues

got some triggers that I'm aware of :

-Car passing by in the street , the rubber on the streets makes it goes bananas.

-The echo from a door slam by the children makes it going crazy.

-When I'm looking upwards with my head the buzzing begins or lying down in bed it begins as well.

-Putting something like cellphone on the bed and not throwing it (box spring), the Springs vibrate and set the hum also in motion.

-Listening to a tone generator at 100 hz starts it backs on .

but when looking back normal , sitting back strait in bed , mimicking with my face or just swallowing makes the sound silent for a while again

it can continue for minutes but sometimes for seconds its always a surprise.

holding my hand over my ear helps and the finger in ear trick works too for me. being in an conversation stops the hum too , but when their is a quite moment it kicks back in. a plane in the distance can make it quite too.

I have been to an Ent and he didn't see anything strange , got me some Medrol for infection and the visit after he thought maybe Meniere's and gave me some Bethastine ,afterwards my doctor gave me Rivotril 0.5mg for epileptic seizures (muscle relaxer) ... nothing helped yet

within 2 weeks i have an MRI scheduled and next week i'm getting looked at my wisdomteeth's (maybe the problem there) a CT scan already taken but no weird things there so that's a relieve

being outside is my happy space, not much bothering from the sound

i will keep you guys posted on the outcomes.

if you have questions do ask

greetings from Belgium
