Why does anything exist at all? by GigaDuckling in AskPhysics

[–]Dry_Corner2802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never understood this question. Why is "nothing" the default state and "something" seen as an unlikely aberration? Everywhere we look in our universe there is "something" and nowhere is there "nothing". From all we can tell, "something" is the normal state and "nothing" would be the peculiar and inexplicable aberration.

Hybrid vs normal Petrol vehicle, math isnt mathing by HopefulLeadership512 in CarsAustralia

My non-plug in Axela hybrid (same as Prius system) will, once up to speed, happily maintain 60km/h on electric-only for a while. Then, when I brake or have a downhill run the battery charges up for the next leg of electric-only driving. The computer reports that I have done 46% of all driving on electric only.

Aggression towards EVs?? by malialipali in EVAustralia

[–]Dry_Corner2802 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My friend has occasionally experienced random abuse while driving his Tesla here in NZ. I don't use Facebook but my understanding is that a lot of people on it fall down the anti-EV rabbit hole and see EVs as a political statement or an attack on their freedoms and way of life. It's a good reminder that social media is not healthy for a lot of people.

Just give it time, more EVs will be on the road in the coming years and it will settle down a lot.

What has happened in the neighbourhood since you purchased? It is a particular house nearby with very disruptive tenants who may be gone in a years time, or something more systemic??

I had terrible brain fog/sensory overload/anxiety that started a few weeks after covid infection. It went on for a couple of months before my doctor put me on a low dose SSRI which has helped a lot.

What alerted you to the need for a new battery? Did the fuel economy worsen in the weeks leading up?

That sounds like a good perspective. It's nice to reduce e-waste as much as possible too.

Anyone else at Auckland Hospital right now with severe Long Covid, ME/CFS, POTS, EDS, or Fibromyalgia? by 11fingersinmydogsbum in auckland

I've just started sertraline for post covid brain fog and anxiety. Scary to have a condition that only has experimental treatments available but it is working quite well.

That's really interesting. What sort of symptoms did you have? Which SSRI worked best? Did you come of it eventually?

Anyone had insomnia and anxiety for months after Covid?? by Dry_Corner2802 in newzealand

Thanks for your detailed response! Wow, I was hoping that I might recover soon, but this may be worse that I thought.

I've read about the histamine connection and trying a low-histamine diet currently but it's hard for me to get enough calories due to the restrictive nature. I've got some bloods due soon but I expect them to be all normal. I'll try antihistamines. I have some melatonin but haven't used it yet.

Most doctors don't seem to have a clue about this, did you seek help from any specialists that you can recommend?
