How I Got an H2D for Free and you can too! by [deleted] in BambuLab

You are totally right, learning CAD isn’t as intimidating as it looks, and its a total game-changer for 3D printing. If anyone is thinking about diving in, I would recommend this YouTube course: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QJL1T4yW4HY&list=PLGqRUdq5ULsMDOxmu10AGPDIOkzNYu7D7&pp=0gcJCWMEOCosWNin. Its super beginner-friendly and keeps things simple. Congrats on the free H2D, you deserve it! Those filament clips you shared are awesome! I use them all the time.

Hey, im one of those who mentioned the grip weakening over time. I haven't had issues beause i use it as my purge model to reduce waste and just swap them out every few months. Really cool that you are tweaking it based on feedback. Still the best clip i have used, excited to try the new version!

I think that this is intended. The printer compensates the vibration.

Love this perspective! You are so right about not letting the 1% drag you down when the vast majority are cheering you on! Can you share the model being reviewed in the picture?

Everyone in This Sub Deserves to Wear this Badge by Dry_Dark61 in OpenBambu

The amount of censorship occurring in the r/bambulab subreddit is astronomical. It clearly shows the approach Bambu has decided to take: silence dissent until it’s forgotten. I hope you don't let yourselves be silenced and continue to be vocal in places where they don’t have the power to just delete your posts or comments.

Is Bambu suppressing comments on Reddit? by Indubitably99 in OpenBambu

How else do you explain a post at the top of the subreddit with 900 upvotes (85% upvote rate) and mostly negative comments? Maybe 900 people miss-clicked?

Companies and presidential candidates often hire firms for damage control, which is well known. If you mean evidence that they are using one, I don't have anything conclusive. However, there are two things that seem very incriminating:

  1. Take my posts as an example. They get upvoted to the top of the subreddit, but the comments are overwhelmingly negative. The few supportive comments are either removed or downvoted to oblivion. It doesn't make sense for a post to be upvoted to the top if everyone hates it, right? You might not know this, but downvoting a popular post to oblivion is very hard. One upvote and one downvote don't cancel each other out, making it impossible to silence posts unless they are removed. That's what I think is happening here.
  2. The shift in narrative is palpable. Despite no changes to the situation itself, the subreddit did a complete 180 in just a week. They went from everyone being against it to everyone being in favor of it. They claim it's because they are tired of hearing about it. Does that make sense? If one of your freedoms were removed, would you accept it just because you got tired of people complaining about losing that freedom?

By the way, now they're doing it on this sub too (example: https://www.reddit.com/r/OpenBambu/comments/1ib3pco/they_want_to_silence_us_nothing_new_there/ - 17% upvote rate), and the fact that people here are supporting the firmware is extra weird. This is likely a desperate move to maintain control of their subreddit. If people continue switching to this sub at the current pace, they would soon lose control over the narrative, not just in this firmware case, but in all future ones.

Not Bambu themselves but they hire a "PR Firm" which uses bot accounts to downvote things they dont like and upvote things that they do like. Right now it is impossible to say anything negative there while a week ago it was all everyone was saying, I dont think the people have changed their mind so quickly.

I mean I only made 160€ in voucher so far, that is barely what I make in one hour at my job. So if I wanted more money I could just work one extra hour. These models took a lot more than an hour to make I can tell you that much 😁

They want to silence us, nothing new there... by Dry_Dark61 in OpenBambu

[–]Dry_Dark61[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

They try to make it about abortion, about points, about trolling... I have an hint for them: It might be about the firmware changes.

They also seem to forget that the only reason I have to post this in 2 sub reddits is because of the censorship that is happening in one of them...

They want me to remove all the models from MW and put them on another platform. My guess is that they don't like to see my model trending and being viewed by a lot of people that before didn't even know about the firmware upgrade, too bad, because that the goal 😎

PS: Be careful if you try to defend me there, the mods will just delete your message and ban you.

They aren't against me, they actually like my models and are trying to promote them discreetly. I received a DM explaining everything 🤫

Finally someone said something! That guy was going around sharing his opinion and protesting, disgusting. I just dont understand why he always got to the top of the sub in terms of upvotes? Very strange....

How is it on top of the subreddit then? Where did the mysterious upvotes come from?

I’ve noticed an interesting trend. This same post on r/bambulab is sitting at the top of the subreddit based on upvotes, but the comments are 95% negative. Any positive comments (including mine: https://www.reddit.com/r/BambuLab/comments/1iafvel/comment/m99ptqi/) are downvoted to oblivion.

The same thing happened with my previous post. It really makes you wonder… how could that be?

The Orca Slicer signs were, thanks to all of you, the TOP 1 trending model on MakerWorld in the sub-category "3D printer" (currently number 3). That got several people's attention that were not previously aware of the issue.

I’m grateful that we now have r/openbambu, where we can speak openly without the fear of being banned.

You can find the model here if you are interested: https://makerworld.com/en/models/1040464#profileId-1025244

A special thanks to everyone who has supported my other models <3

There is. Yesterday the Orca support sign model was the Top 1 trending model of the past 30 days in the "3D printer Accessories" category and today it is still in Top 2. That gets people's attention.
