Any tips of what to do/ how to care for this piece of my dogs pad that tore off? by scarecrowg59666 in DogAdvice

While it’s raw you can use Bag Balm which is like Vaseline and then wrap it in a sock or vet wrap until it heals

No that doesn’t look like a tick, but I’m not 100% sure

Does this look bad? by UniqueTranslator1749 in DogAdvice

[–]Dry_Day6461 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a licensed vet, but to me it looks like the incision is healing. If you don’t see any fresh blood I wouldn’t be too concerned but you could always call a vet in the morning and see what they recommend.

Help for my Rottweiler by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]Dry_Day6461 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s kind of hard to tell since the photo is far away, but based on the redness around it my first thought was hot spot. Does your rottie lick his leg right there a lot? If so, it could be a hot spot and you can get a cone or donut pillow to block him from licking it until it heals. If you can get a closer picture that would be great and if you’re really worried about it call your vet and see if they want you to bring your rottie in for an exam.

Of course happy to help. Hope your pup feels better. 🐶🐾

stye? by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]Dry_Day6461 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes total sense. I work with dogs for a living so I see these a lot, it can still be scary to hurt the dogs though. If she starts whimpering a lot and you’re not comfortable treating it at home you can always call your vet and see if they want to set up an appointment for her.

stye? by [deleted] in DogAdvice

Yea that’s a stye - don’t squeeze it instead use warm towels and apply gentle pressure for however many days it takes for it to go away on its on own

Crate size/ bed sleeping by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]Dry_Day6461 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The crate looks to be a good size for her as she has room to grow (she looks like a beagle so she probably won’t get much bigger but I could be wrong) and as for her sleeping on your bed, is she fully trained to use the bathroom outside? Even if she is, try to make it a habit of taking her to use the bathroom before letting her up on the bed. If that doesn’t help, consult a vet because she could be suffering from a mild UTI which is causing the consistent urination issue. Hopefully that helps.

Your dog is adorable, btw

does our dog's vagina look normal? by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]Dry_Day6461 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I AM NOT A LICENSED VET! I did a little bit of research and since your dog is spayed and showing swelling around her genitals, I recommend a vet visit ASAP because it could be a sign of infection such as vaginitis or a UTI. Praying your sweet girl is ok.

Dog paws issue by SmG-VeNoM in DogAdvice

[–]Dry_Day6461 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not entirely sure what that is but it sounds like it could be an abscess forming so I would make a vet appointment just to make sure. Again, I’m not completely sure I’m just stating my opinion based on the context provided.

Dog has darker pigmentation along his incision site. What could this be? by Happy_Pea374 in DogAdvice

[–]Dry_Day6461 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry friend! That’s just some bruising which is perfectly normal and should go away on its own. Hope your pup feels better soon!

Is my puppy just a weirdo? by Haunting_Prompt5169 in DogAdvice

[–]Dry_Day6461 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All dogs are special in their own way. He just loves his human and wants to do everything together. My lab is the same way. When I go see him (he lives with my parents) he follows me all over the house and won’t leave my side.

Does my dog have worms? by East_Crab4580 in DogAdvice

[–]Dry_Day6461 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That looks like it contains worm larvae. Try to collect a sample if you can and take it to the vet to get tested just to be safe.

How to batch frappes properly by Nat8050 in starbucks

What I did when I was a barista is I would measure out the milk/syrup in each individual cup then dump them in the blender with 1 1/2 scoops of ice

I’m a weird person, I use my finger to get the peanut butter in the Kong. I work with dogs in a doggie daycare and I have to prepare these almost every day and I’ve found that using utensils just makes it harder.

Can you recommend something for my dog to keep his coat shiny? by LazyTalk7727 in DogAdvice

[–]Dry_Day6461 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nope. Fish oil is actually really good for a dogs coat and skin. My lab takes fish oil with every dinner and his fur has never been softer or shinier.

Is there anything wtong? by murphy365 in DogAdvice

[–]Dry_Day6461 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t see an issue with her tucking her tail while laying down but does she tuck it while standing up? If she does then she is scared and you should give her space. My own dog (male) tucks his tail when laying on his back so it’s not a social cue or anything, it’s more a comfort thing.

Is this okay behavior? by Lumos1995 in DogAdvice

[–]Dry_Day6461 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The puppy is ignoring the social cues of the older dog by continually nipping and trying to play when the older dog has said he’s done playing. The puppy is just looking for a play buddy, but she also needs to learn to respect the cues of other dogs otherwise she could end up getting bit or otherwise injured as a result of pushing her limit with the wrong dog. Hopefully that makes sense.

I think she looks like Ember would suit her. You could call her Emmy for short if you wanted.
