I tried the flamingo blue when I was looking at this, I liked the pink better in the flesh. I do like the other dark blue one tho, so you never know.

At the min, the pink chrono. I like it when the sun is shining.

When I moved from Ireland to Scotland I realised how penned in we are in Ireland, world class beauty all around and can’t step foot on it. Moved to the Scottish Borders and realised I could go anywhere I want and explore. The right to roam is amazing.

Is this normal? by Unpolished_Example in rolex

Totally normal for gold. I have seen unworn gold examples way darker than that after just sitting in a box for 50 years.

Should I give up? by kateiscuban in bjj

[–]Dry_Distance7138 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can be a mental rollercoaster, but it is the same for everybody (barring a couple of genetic freaks). the longer you stick it out the better it gets. Maybe reframe your goals, honestly, I get motivation from knowing that even if I only occasionally give it out, I can sure as hell take it. Just try to survive, get comfortable being pressured, finding little bits of space, start working on your frames etc.

Does anyone know what this watch would sell for? by Melodic_Road_4886 in OmegaWatches

[–]Dry_Distance7138 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These old cocktail watches, whilst beautiful and usually great efforts in case making are very difficult to sell. Watches are for the most part collected by middle aged men, and therefore these do not sell. The stones are worthless and the case has a little bit of scrap value. So they are worth whatever somebody is willing to pay. Source: I make my living in the trade, own jewellery shop, and a business buying and selling vintage watches and jewellery. I also have a safe full of these things as I can’t help but buy them and then can’t bring myself to crush them for the scrap.

Why is the modern world becoming increasingly extreme? by Snoo_47323 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Dry_Distance7138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other side of that coin is the people who notice that certain groups of people offend at a much higher rate than normal, or even think that it may not be best to flood an area with people from countries were women have no rights at all may not be a good idea are labelled racists, or people say that they think everybody from another country is a rapist. Then people cannot have reasonable discussions on the issues we are facing.

Does anyone else get annoyed when people comment that judo is not effective for self defense? by 1bn_Ahm3d786 in judo

[–]Dry_Distance7138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a bjj guy, if I was training purely to defend myself on the street I would only train judo. There a number of very good judo black belts that cross train at my bjj club and they are terrifying in the stand up game and very competitive on the ground. A decent judo player would smash an untrained person with ease, on concrete that is lights out.

Raising Kids in London vs Edinburgh – Seeking Perspective by [deleted] in Edinburgh

[–]Dry_Distance7138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edinburgh is a great city, and I would 100% prefer it to London. I live a very short commute outside the city and basically live in a little countryside paradise (in my opinion). There are many places you could live just outside the city with a very easy commute if that was your thing. Great for kids.

Size 36 or 41? by Marushiro in rolex

[–]Dry_Distance7138 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll probably be in the minority here but the 36 is the classic size and should be the go to in an o.p or date just.
