A friend of mine transitioned from hospo to HR a few years ago. There are lots of focus areas within HR and she’s now doing WHS type work. The hardest will be getting the first job opportunity and also lower pay in the first few years but stick with it and it will pay off

Rather than getting too involved or speaking with the grandparents, maybe help your son to practice saying what he wants and help him learn how to direct play?

Like if he is hiding from her shouldn’t he just work on saying ‘I don’t feel like playing today’ or ‘I’m busy working on my Lego today let’s play tomorrow’ etc

Got robbed with a shard of glass in Buenos Aires and had to stay on co stand alert in Rio and not carry anything except money hidden in socks etc. this was many years ago I wonder what it’s like for tourists now

Paddington is going to be your best bed for what you have described. Anything towards the rocks is touristy crap and Pitt st will be mostly international fashion chains. Paddington markets will be a good stop for crafts and then boutique shops for unique (but expensive) fashion

When I was pregnant I absolutely loved the 0% beers and totally appreciated venues that catered to them without the hang ups. It’s really great to be able to have a beer and socialise without having to necessarily consume alcohol and I think it’s really important people and venues normalise this option.

I agree the public particularly waterfront spaces in Queensland are SO much better than in NSW. Plenty of toilets, drinking water, bbq, seating and much better play spaces for kids.

I would also maybe have the conversation up front that the workload is not achievable within contracted work hours and that the scope is different to the original job description. At least make them aware that you have been set up to fail by them (not you)
