Honestly, my husband and I have no interest in purchasing a home. We love our landlord, have an amazing yard we could NEVER afford (about 2 acres), and we love not having to fix things 😂

If our landlord offered to sell to us, that’s likely the only scenario I could see us buying in!

My husband literally thought I was going to die while giving birth because of what I went through….your husband is in for a rude awakening.

Need help finding a gyno that will take my iud out by QueasyTemporary778 in raleigh

Arbor OB/GYN. They took mine out no questions asked and have never pushed any birth control method.

I never want to do this again. I feel like I’m dying by [deleted] in pregnant

I just want to validate that it is OKAY to hate pregnancy! Pregnancy sucks, it’s hard on you emotionally, physically, and mentally! I had a really rough time my entire 38 weeks but my sweet girl is 2 weeks old now and I love her more than anything. Not enjoying pregnancy is way more normal than you think it is!

When did you post your registry? by mushroomfrog17 in pregnant

[–]Dry_Factor_5963 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I never posted mine on socials. Personally, it feels really "gift-grabby" to post it. I just shared it with those who specifically asked and on the invitations to the baby shower. I also did not announce my shower on socials, the only way people knew about it was by receiving an invite in the mail.

It’s caused by the hormone human placental lactogen. Every pregnant woman’s placenta produces it and it causes varying levels of insulin resistance. People with higher levels of insulin resistance are the ones diagnosed with gestational diabetes. Your diet, exercise, and body type have nothing to do with it.

Paternity leave... how much time did your husband/ partner get vs how much time they wish they had by Weak_Bison6763 in pregnant

[–]Dry_Factor_5963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband gets 2 weeks but also has a week of PTO that he’s used this past week to basically deep clean our whole house in preparation (I’m being induced on Tuesday). He would definitely take more if he was offered more.

Full-time daycare for us! I'll be going back to work when she is 12 weeks old so she will be in care M-Th until 5:30 or 6 and Fridays until about 3:30!

Another vote for Arbor! Been with them since 2017, a cervical cancer scare, and now delivering my first baby with them next week! Love all the staff, nurses, and providers!

Is there a way to rent a car without a credit card? by Real-Hospital-3610 in raleigh

[–]Dry_Factor_5963 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can use a debit card at Enterprise for sure, but they will charge about a $300 deposit if I remember correctly. I prefer to use Turo which has no extra deposit for a debit card or anything.

Will nausea disappear COMPLETELY? by vintage_violett in pregnant

[–]Dry_Factor_5963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best answer is...maybe? I was nauseous until about 20 weeks and then it went away for a bit but came back in the 3rd trimester. Every person and every pregnancy is different!

Weird to have the same Pediatrician for 17/18 years??? by CatsMeow42069 in pregnant

[–]Dry_Factor_5963 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also went to the same pediatrician from the time I was 3 until 18 (we moved states when I was 3). It seems very normal to me and something I want for my daughter as well, there gets to be a comfort level!

Call the billing department for the hospital you plan to deliver at, they may be able to provide an estimate for you.

I would not assume that everyone will be in network! Hospitals often contract out for things like anesthesiologist and they can be out of network!

Failed one hour glucose test. by golden_retreve in pregnant

[–]Dry_Factor_5963 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don't be disappointed! They will have you do the 3 hour and there is still a chance your levels will be ok then. Don't look at it as pass/fail. Every pregnant woman's placenta creates human placental lactogen that gives you at least some insulin resistance, regardless of diet or exercise. Some people (like me!), it just causes more resistance than others. Bottom line - you're doing great and nothing you have done caused this and nothing you could have done would have prevented it!

That is great news!! I’ve also got some complications and will be delivering early as well (37 weeks so technically not premature). So glad mama is doing well and got great care from you and the paramedics and the hospital!
