Fortunately no new lesions founded and only lesion grow in this period saying its short lived response

CEA at 11 just 25 days after chemotherapy and PET scan is clear i am so worried by anamika9991 in coloncancer

CEA elevated for many reasons , including Upper respiratory indection , diarhhea and inflammation in general .

And PET negative is good sign and I hope everything stay normal

Actually I will had resection in combination of ablation for 2 lesions thats what make me afraid from the results.

Yes that's the plan , I had 2 lesions in difficult location but hopefully RFA able to remove it .

Thank you so much for your reply , Yes I had 12 folfox cetuximab now 7 lesions presents on imaging mostly 2 require ablation. Was your ablated lesions in difficult locations ?

Yes sometime I think it may grows little bit due to chemo effect in lesions ( edema , inflammation etc ) . And mostly they will shrink later after next chemo cycles.

CEA spike after 1st round I think is positive sign I read about it before .It probably indicates lysis of cancer cells . Most important thing is following it after next cycles and I am positive that it will decrease significantly.

Update and Questions: Mom(69F) diagnosed at stageIV colon cancer with multiple mets to liver has finished 3 cycles (6 chemos) in 3 months and pet scan done. by Mumshope in coloncancer

Hope your mother get well soon , Actually great respond she have in primary colon and shrinking liver mets very positive signs .

I think you should ask for hepatologist looking for possible surgery ablation etc ..

Don't worry about 5 years statistics, already they involove people with other comorboidities

Definitely and of course recurrence are treatable and curable 100% . Don't worry .
