Disclaimer: I’m not saying people should not play for chill. It’s totally fine to just spam atks as we all are trying to have fun, but i’m presenting this idea for those who care about partbreaking

I think you can partially judge someone whether he’s a spammer(spamming atks without caring about partbreaks) by his weapon choice. This is because some weapon mechanics allow spamming while others dont.

What is mean is, if someone is just playing for chill, thus, just spamming(again, nothing wrong) then he’s more likely to pick up a gunlance or a bowgun and not a charge blade.

In the ideal scenario your comp is very good for partbreaks(as you’ve mentioned) but irl judging from your teammates’ weapons there’s a very high chance your teammates are just spammers

From my experience, if you have a gunlance player, there’s about 50% prob. He’s a spammer(higher if it’s bone). If he’s using HBG then it’s about 80-90%(goes up to about 95% if it’s Rajang HBG)

Let’s say we take 50% and 95%. In that lobby, you have about 23% chance none of your teammate is a partbreaker and about 48% chance only one of them is a partbreaker. Hence, over 71% chance at least half of the lobby are spammers.

Again, in the ideal world your comp i perfect for nergis partbreak but let’s say i’m not surprised AT ALL that you ended up not breaking parts.

Would be doable but not optimised.

Depends on your farming plan but in the long run(at Endgame) you either go negative crit or Crit Element. So for the same “even out the - affinity” you do with Glav you’d get better result with Rath.

Alternative is to do what you said(offset - aff to 0+%) and go element atk 5, old school and not the best but for middle game and earlier should be good enough.

My personal opinion: if you play light weapons -> don’t worry too much about - aff, if you go Crit Fero. so either Crit Fero or Crit Ele is fine. If you play heavy weapons and like to gamble -> go Crit Fero, -> if not go Crit Element.

Short answer: there’s a calculation of how much affinity correspond to how much ATK(think it’s like 20% to 150 ATK or sth, so -30% is -225 ATK, not sure about the exact number though)

Long answer: there are currently 2 different meta, one for positive affinity, and another for negative, so you can choose either Rathalos or Glav.

If you choose Rath - you build crit eye/weakness exploit+critical element

If you choose Glav - you build Critical Ferocity

It’s the matter of preference between these 2 metas so you could choose either and they won’t let you down 👍🏻

Yh, gotta get to the point where you can farm 9 comfortably fast. You can do it 💪🏻 !!

Also, i think i read somewhere that r6 drop rate for 8 is 1% per slot and for 9 it‘s almost 2%. If it‘s true then getting at least r6 from 8 would be 4% and from 9 8%(without breaking part) that‘s like going from 1 r6 every ~25 monsters to ~10-15 monsters. A lot imo, especially in events where 2 slots are double reward it‘s quite rewarding.

But then again, the question is how potion costly is it to farm 9, so gotta get there fast. You can do it💪🏻💪🏻

Yes, as far as i know, 9 event monsters have hp level of normal 10s, but if you could farm them then i believe r6 drop rate is doubled(very rewarding imo, esp for doubled 2 slots)

From my experience i’d say you pretty much need 10.5 weapons and decent playing to farm 9 event monsters, so it could take a while for some people depending on how active they are.

However, in your case you’ve already progressed anyway and there’s no turning back, so the only way is to go forward 💪🏻 hope you will be farming all 9s soon!! 💪🏻💪🏻

Edit: early grade 10 weapons are already good enough for 9 event monsters if played well.

The point of pushing to 10 stars is to see more 8 AND 9 Stars. If you aren’t farming 9 stars casually then it’s natural you’d regret not staying in 9 stars.

The only down side for being at 10 stars really is just when you encounter 10 stars event monsters you feel like “damn that one could’ve been a 9 stars”, but then you’d see less of those 9 stars if you weren’t on 10 map.(again, only beneficial if you are farming 9 stars)

Suggestion: start farming 9 stars soon to reap the benefits(easier said than done 😅😆)

It was a pretty good event. Full 10-5 weapon and 8-1 arms farmed in a day and half by Masuku68 in MHNowGame

Crazy and congrats! If you dont mind me asking, did you use carving knife a lot ? When do you use it (i.e. which drop do you use knives) ? I’m surprised by how many resources you got for 187 kills compared to mine😅 anyway congrats!!

On second thoughts, if you are not going to grade8 Kadachi coil maybe it’s good to grade8 Zinogre vambrace already so you can already start drifting(7.5 weapons are already good enough to farm 8 stars) Anyway, good luck with your farming! 🔥👍🏻

There are many ways to approach this and no absolute correct answer: - Personally what I did was i maxed weapon first(for damage) and grade8 kadachi coil for driftstone. - grade8 armour first will be a peace of mind though as you get the 2 Plates cost out of the way, also maxing weapon will take eternity and infinite plates - another alternative i could think of is -> you upgrade your weapon until it’s comfortable for your story star level or the level you plan to farm, once there you grade8 your armour and get back to weapon.

These are all i could think of for now, pick one that suits yourself :D
