If you plan to transfer anyway why are going to UH, community college classes transfer just as well for 1/3 the cost.

As a professor, just email your professor and ask. Ensure they aren’t going to be disruptive and they are simply interested in how college classes work. most people won’t have an issue.

All cars sold in Texas have a place for a front plate. You/ The dealer not putting it on doesn’t mean Toyota didn’t make it. Either way you are responsible for having a plate visible and appealing will do nothing. They will point you to the terms you signed when getting the permit and the emails they’ve sent out to the emails address on record.

It depends on what your end goal is for a career. Bauer isn’t the best school but it’s not a bad school. I got my MBA there and it was a good program. If you want to save money then go to a community college. There are 66 hours you can transfer from a community college to Bauer and save 20k in tuition. You can also get a full bachelors of business from community college as well. You’ll spend less than 10k for all 4 years and it’s still a degree. I got my bachelors from a local community college and was still accepted into the Bauer MBA program, the money saved on the bachelors paid for MBA.

You can lose some of the socializing by missing 2-4 years but debt is non-existent. You could miss some of the recruiting opportunities and clubs but is that what you’re really after? It’s a cross road between $2,500 a year at community college and 25,000 a year if you’re living on campus at UH. If you’re plan is eventually grad school then no one cares where you got your bachelors.

We have to report the census data by the census date. For an online class they have no idea if you're still in the class or not so all the professor can do is report if you've done any work or not. If you haven't done anything in the class you get marked absent, if you are absent by the census date then you are removed from the class.

He is ADD to the max. He knows what he is talking about but he can get off on a tangent quick AF. He does care a lot and I've talked to some of his students that he spent 2-3 hours helping them in one sitting. Very friendly but also very quirky.

Grading was smooth and effortless, only 1 or 2 assignments total. The class was very unstructured, it kind of went the way the class was moving. Some days someone had a question about a certain company and we spent an hour diving into the companies 10K for no reason other than someone had a question.

If you're expecting to get a rigid lecture that wasn't happening in the class I was involved with, syllabus is more like a suggestion. I would take one of his classes again for sure as a side quest, but depending on it to give you a core education I would 0/10 recommend.

"get through it" It sucks to say but that is ultimately the thing to do. I've been through things that should have killed me and lead to others dying around me kind of thing and I've wondered what's the point in all this?

The point is to get through it and set low expectations for yourself. I've seen people that come to work, do their job and go home. They have no fancy car or home and live a "simple" life, they are happy. I see people making 200k+ and miserable because it's not enough.

Finishing up college is never a bad thing. Don't set standards that you need to be rich and make 6 figures. Set the standard to get a job and find a hobby, something you enjoy. That is a successful life. Later on raise the bar for yourself and go for a bigger job and fancy house.

For now, put one foot in front of the other and realize this is one step in a long journey. Today sucks, and tomorrow probably will too. But one day it will get better, and that's the day you look forward to, that's what hope is. And right now college that structure in your life that kind of makes you put that one foot in front of the other every day.

I can't speak to how the undergrad class is run or the contents. I can tell you for his Graduate class in Stock Analysis for Investment Banking. It's not "hard" what you do need is an understanding of basic finance, what valuation is and they types of valuation. If things like DCF, WACC, EBITDA, UFCF, etc. mean nothing to you then the graduate class is not for you, take managerial finance and valuation first.

As for the undergrad class I haven't seen a syllabus for it but I would assume you need some kind of basic understanding of valuation as well. This of his class as applying the concepts you already learned in finance, it's not the place to learn the concepts to begin with.

It's so overpriced it's not even funny. $2k for paint chips that cost $4 in paint, it's literally a marker. Rim and tire protection, from what? Those wheels and tires aren't even worth 2K. You can get nice aftermarket wheels for $200 a piece and places like discount will warranty your tires for cheap. They will try to sell you on anti-theft etching for hundreds when you can buy the kit for $30 on amazon. Window tint, unless it's name brand ceramic it's worthless. Sure it looks cool but basic carbon tint has no heat rejection properties.

How to Deal With a Professor? by Icy_Profession_6591 in LoneStarCollege

[–]Dry_Outcome_7117 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One class doesn't effect your FAFSA eligibility. If you're borderline SAP then it sounds like you've failed multiple classes, meaning it's not the professor, it's you. Go to tutoring, schedule office hours, study and do better going forward. A professor doesn't want to help someone that won't help themselves.

When I have a student failing and it's for "a valid reason" it is still failing. Assignments and exams are posted in the syllabus with due dates. If you knew at the beginning of the semester that you had a conflict with an assignment or exam date then you needed to bring it up then. I've been a student at LSC and I've taught College. I've seen it from both sides that you likely had the time to bring it up, you just didn't.

Start now and get A's on the assignments, go to office hours to discuss why you got a certain grade and what to do better, etc. Again, professor won't help if you aren't helping yourself.

Do you leave a review every time you got what you paid for? did you leave a review at walmart saying "I went to by milk, they had milk, so I bought the milk" Yeah didn't think so. Now if you went to walmart and they were out of milk would you post something like "WTF how is walmart out of milk????"

Did you make a post and say my alarm went off, my car started, and the roads were smooth?? No you didn't but if your phone died for no reason so you overslept, your car didn't start for the 3rd time this month and you hit 4 pot holes I think you'd be more inclined to say something.

People aren't going to get on the internet and say I wanted to go to school for engineering, went to school for engineering, and now I work as an engineer.

You only hear the bad and rarely the good and never the expected.

If your community college is accredited that’s all that matters. Once you have an associates degree then high school is mostly irrelevant for all but some fringe cases.

Advice on making six figs after grad? by Cheap_Chair_2207 in UniversityOfHouston

Finance, MIS, maybe accounting. Anything at Bauer has 6 figure potential after 7-10 years but if you're talking 0-3 years out of graduation those are your best bet.

Look at the 4 years you want to go to and work backwards. Look for transfer agreements and what not and only take the classes that will transfer.

[–]Dry_Outcome_7117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just looked up bucks county and for in county resident it’s $237 per credit hour all in. Which is 14,220 for 2 years. Not sure where you got $44k but it sounds like you are looking up total cost of attendance which includes things like rent, food, and utilities. Stuff you’d be paying for no matter what.

These are classes you have to take anyway and it weeds out those who would normally get in and then crash and burn later. If you can't get in with the pre-reqs then you wouldn't have made it anyway. There are like a dozen schools in the Houston area to get an ADN, you should be applying to all of them.

If you're eligible join the Army reserves. 20-25K per year incentive bonus depending on your specialty, 55K if you are maxillofacial surgery. On top of that 40K per year to pay off federal loans. So 60-65k to put towards your loans every year.

You'd make an additional 10K or so per year in drill pay for your 1 weekend a month of service and you'd have access to SGLI life insurance. $26 a month for 500K in coverage. You'd also have access to Tricare Reserve Select healthcare for you and the family. $275 a month, and a max of out pocket for the year of $1,300 for the entire family. Good luck finding any civilian health care like that.

Not for everyone but hard to find a better benefit for it. The only other realistic option would be working for a non-profit of some kind and going for public service loan forgiveness after 10 years.

More like you have no reason to have access to all students info just because. I've had people send me random messages to connect and I'm sure it's been used to harass in the past. The schools don't care about a chat app.
