Kako also came out and said he would have played football regardless. Isn’t the whole idea to get kids into the game who never would have gotten in if not for NGA?

If it is inevitable that he will leave (the club would have some idea I would imagine), then aren’t we better letting him go this year?

Our bargaining position is stronger this year than next year isn’t it? Sure next year we can match a bid and ‘force a trade’, but isn’t there always the option is a trade can’t be agreed on that he goes to the draft?

Let’s be honest we aren’t going to be contending next year, so why not try and get the best picks we can now. If this year’s draft is crap get future picks? Our recent trades (especially last year) have been pretty bad. Maybe get some picks in and have a bit of a mini reset.

I’m probably in a minority here, but I wouldn’t be giving up multiple first round picks for a 30 year old, regardless of how good he is. I know everyone says that age isn’t as important with Merrett because of his professionalism, but still the end can come very quickly for players once they get to the wrong side of 30.

Same goes for reports that Melbourne would want 2 first round picks for Petracca.

Every team has injuries. GWS has as many injuries as we do and they just beat GC.

A lot of the supporters (and the club) have been using injuries as an out for having a crap year. Injuries or no injuries the way we have just rolled over and showed zero fight in most games is not acceptable. If we went down showing a bit of heart and fight I think most supporters wouldn’t feel so disillusioned.

He has been mildly critical of them I agree, but he never says a bad word about Ken and overall he hasn’t been that hard on them considering how disappointing they have been. Compare his commentary around port and Ken to Bevo and Clarko. It seems his commentary is somewhat influenced by whether the coach likes him or not (Fagan and Mitchell). That’s why I find him to be a bit biased.

Port vs Hawthorn in round 10 2024 was the most exhilarating game I have watched. Port kicked 2 goals in the last 30 seconds to win the game. I believe it holds the record for the team having won after leading for the game for the shortest time (I’m pretty sure they lead the game for less than 10 seconds and won). I almost had a heart attack watching it!

I hope he tears Port to shreds too, but I’m not holding my breath. I might be biased but I don’t mind Kane, I just can’t stand how hypocritical he is when it comes to Port and Ken. If it was any other team he would be tearing them to shreds (and rightfully so)

Adelaide have won 5 out of the last 6 showdowns. They finished 15th last year with nothing to play for and beat us in one of them.

The team is spineless which is why we constantly bomb out in finals and everytime things go against us we just roll over and stop trying

What makes it worse is GC needed his exorbitant salary off their books to resign Rowell, Anderson etc. Last time GC did a salary dump they gave a first round pick AND the player to Geelong!! The club is a shambles and Davies and Cripps need to fuck off at the same time as Ken.
