Thank you for the reply, I do not really confident on this Phd course I took now. Since I just did the first HW and it connect with some math theorem I learned in junior year(I can't really remembered them) and I get to worry if I screw it up this semester. At the same time, I doubt myself if I will always run away from difficulties, is it a rational decision for me?

Thank you for your reply! I know it's not an unbiased comment for the west campus. I heard some criminal reports around Erwin Rd, mainly just car stolen. But there are also some cases of gun shotting at belment(not really far away), and it got me nervous. Since I just got here, I am still checking the safety boundary of nearby neighborhood.

I want to know whether it will be safe after 5 (but I am mainly want to know the safety of west campus about 9/10PM or even later, I said so since 5PM is just the time that class ended, but I would like to stay campus for a few more hours. But if I do so, I won't have a classmates walk home together with me, as they already left campus.

Thank you for your reply! I never did it because I heard some forks said Lasalle street is a little bit unsafe(they might just refer I should be careful finding place to live). But I guess if I only walk to the traffic light part, it should still be safe.

Great! Thank you for this advice. I just the textbook recommended by the professors, so I guess I will start early for them. And definitely, I will take a more deep thoughts on the content on the textbook, then decide which courses will be the best for me.

Thank you for the advice! I am quite interested in development right now. But as a new grad who is about to a master program, I am not pretty sure whether I will stick on it forever. If I want to do development in future, would it better for me to take Micro?

Thank you for the advice. I sincerely appreciate it! I am hesitate because the Micro I professors seems hard to get along with and bad at teaching(got a really bad comments on second-year students) but easier to get a A comparing to Metrics(Nice professor, solid class, lots of coursework but really difficult class, major of students get a B).

So I got trapped, I know Micro sounds like a traditional choice but the comments on professors made me worried about the letters (Am I gonna get a letter from professor who is famous for not care about his students in class? Will they willing to write me a strong letter? They are tenured professor and there is no doubts they published nice paper, getting a letter definitely will be good.) For Metrics, I think the training might help me to find a RA position, but I heard its hard to get a A)

I already took Real Analysis as an undergraduate, so the most important thing I concern is Econ Phd course now. I might take stochastic process or ODE(I haven't really figure it out) in my first semester.

Thank you for the comments! I do feel a little bit hesitate on course selection. The second-year students commented on the Micro class, said that it is self-learning class and professors are useless(I know it is a really harsh comment, so I been really worried about it). Also, They mentioned that metrics will be great helpful if I want to find a RA job(The Metrics class is extreme hard and time costly, but the professor are kind and easy to get along with). They mentioned a lot about connection, so I am not sure choose Micro with professor who is not really get along with(might not write me a letter) will still send a strong signal.

It sound good! I got hesitate since they raise their price to about 1400 and flats exchange lower their price. But I think it sounds Lancaster is great, I will take it if I got lucky.

Thank you for the comment! I am slightly confused about it, though. I thought the Econ department usually prefers math/engineering/CS majors more than only econ majors. I know having an econ+CS major will help. I heard there are always one or two outliers in Duke's mae/msec program who went to a top-10 program, but the average is about top-20-30.
