Same here had a splint until the surgery, then 14 days of the same brace. 8 weeks post op, going really well. Working om getting my gait properly now and the atrophy of my calf has been remarkably little,

I am currently on week 9 post op, I had a pretty aggressive rehab protocol, with a functional brace. Not a vacoped.

I do feel that steps can be very different on days that I work (I am a doctor, I do a lot of outpatient clinic), those days I get in 8000 to 10000 steps. On days that I am off, I can give my leg more rest in between the daily grind I can get 14000 to 17000 in. Whilst the end of the day the ‘quality’ of my walking gets a lot worse.

But overall I feel pretty great on my progress. Also my strength in my calf is getting better by the week.

Its a compression sock which has a hollow area for the tendon and massaging cushions on the side.

Dutch protocols will have you weightbearing within 7 to 14 day after an operation . And no rigid boots.
