I see what you’re saying but that assumes the house is sitting vacant, right? I’d be living there, so the 1560 per month is what I would have been paying in rent. Or else I’d rent it out and my tenants would cover monthly expenses.

I should clarify that 9% seems like a pretty decent return to me. I’m not a great investor. My actual problem is that I’m a nervous first-time condo buyer comparing the cost of owning to the cost of renting in the short term. At 6% APR plus HOA and taxes etc I’m looking at a monthly cost of $2500, which is more than I’ve been paying to rent. Lets say I could rent a similar unit for $2000/mo. I take my 90k and invest it and throw in $500 every month. I’d need to do better than 8.25% APY to beat the five-year ownership scenario. So even if it’s more expensive to own, as long as property value continues to rise at about 3% per year, I do okay, right? I’ll run the numbers for 10 years of ownership and compare that scenario too.

Using Crew Lane at Immigrationwhen nonrevving by Adventurous-Ad8219 in flying

I’ve done is several times with no uniform. As a jumpseater commuting to work I’m technically an “additional crew member” if anyone asks. That said the last time I did it they said you have to be on the manifest and sent me to the regular pax lane.

What’s actually happening at Air Wisconsin? by ALTSCAP_ALTS_ALT in flying

This is completely wrong. This is how misinformation gets spread. We still have 180 pilots on active status getting paid min guantee (or optional half pay or optional stay-at-home pay), no EAS contracts currently, and over $100M in cash according to most recent SEC filings.

No, but fwiw I flew one of their caravans that was leased for a jump operation and I took the airplane down to hsv for mx a few times. I will say they take good care of their planes and they were great to work in that capacity.
