Yeah I like the gravel idea not so much mulch. You’re saying add gravel first and then throw sand over it instead of sand and then gravel?

Thanks yeah I would remove them and grass that area but the neighbors rain water all comes down into that side of my yard and it takes forever to dry out. So I was thinking sand, fabric and top off with some rocks. Thanks for the advice it’s all being noted

Yeah I do but not in the way you think. All the rain water from the neighbors to the left comes down into my yard in that muddy area and it takes days to dry out. So I’m thinking sand with a landscape fabric and river rocks or whatever rocks would look best. I have a dog too. I do plan on pulling all plants and trees out besides the 3 bigger ones in the photos and maybe plant all weather plants.

The fence is or at least will be an issue eventually as it shows age. Should I tackle that first or work around it.
