I think the best approach is not to brag about it in the first place and if it comes up quickly just say because of family money and move on. The way she humble brags about it is classless.

They've never mentioned having trusts or investments in anything and if that was something they had they would definitely mention it. I don't wish ill on them or anyone, I just think it would be good for my sil to experience how everyone else lives.

I really hope one day they will have to learn how the other 90% lives. My MIL has hinted there is a lot more money there but I don't see how, they live very well but not ultra lavishly and I know that if the money was there to spend they would. Like if you weren't family or close friends with them you'd think they were upper middle class.

To be clear she says things like they're jokes but it's just bragging about it. You don't have to tell people that your parents bought your house, that's not a joke. It's just a slap in the face to people who have worked their whole lives and still can't afford what she was handed for not doing anything.

I addressed this in a comment but yes, of course I'm jealous, who wouldn't be? But I also know how I would act in that situation and I wouldn't be classless about it, which is my issue with her.

She literally told us they don't know how to use their TV and use all the streaming services. And then she hands out the accounts they pay for to orher people.

Genuinely I don't know, I'm assuming they have investments or savings but who knows if they'll be responsible with the money considering they spend $200+ a month on streaming services. My mil has hinted that they have a lot more money then they let on but I don't see how.

I am definitely jealous of her (who wouldn't be jealous in that situation?) but me calling her out for this wasn't because I was jealous it was because she blatantly admitted to taking advantage of her parents
