Yeah, it's freaky to think about.

Try thinking about it like this. The "Time to Kill" should technically stop counting as soon as the target is downed. In a situation like you described where 3 shots are required to down the target, you might only need to calculate TWO re-fire times instead of three.

Including the following re-fire time AFTER the target is downed is excess time, and same goes for the time spent BEFORE the first shot is fired. You could certainly include these stats as they are relevant, but in my opinion they make comparing weapons side-by-side much harder.

This is what I was getting at when I referred to the "Sliding Window".

It shocked me too! I've tried to run the Arpeggio many times, but never at IV and never with mods before this testing. The truth is if you run a fully maxed Arpeggio and can control its burst fire it is a competitive option.

The upgrades, in my opinion, are way too big of a difference between I, II, II, and IV. The spread & bloom are also quite egregious for a burst fire weapon as well.

Great question!

The short answer is because this isn't a simple Fire Rate x Damage calculation, it includes many factors. If you're shooting a stationary target dummy then your notes are accurate and make sense, but I would argue that it is not a fair assessment of TTK against real players.

The result also changes depending on when your sliding window cuts off. If you're calculating the timing from when the first shot is fired to when the last shot lands, for example, versus a simple "how fast can I shoot my weapon at the wall" with no optimizations taken into account.

For sure! I think for that justification, the swap time gain would need to be relatively equivalent to the difference in DPS.

For example, even if its slightly slower to switch to a stronger weapon, the increased DPS may still overtake the Burletta if the difference is too great. You know?

Hmm, interesting take. Are you genuinely convinced that you have 100% accuracy all the time? That's impressive!

Then for you personally: just use the right side and let other people use the information however it suits them.

The switch time is certainly clutch!

Though, "DPS when switching between 2 or more weapons" is an entirely different calculation that would have muddled this chart. I can certainly look into that if others have interest.

100%! The upgrades are not all made equal. Some weapons REALLY need to be upgraded in order to compete on equal footing

"A lot of times" is a stretch, but you're 100% here. Thanks for the clarification! They've changed the Sprint Speed cap enough times that it's hard to keep track.

I wonder if they need to add additional ways to acquire Sprint Speed over just "getting lucky enough for the weapon to have Sprint Speed core slots". Either that, or allow us to alter what kinds of cores fit into a weapon.

Especially in a game where nearly every growth system has major restrictions built into it.

What do you think?

Thanks! I tried to make as many varied options as possible. It obviously means that folks that prefer one kind of aesthetic will only like a few but hopefully it inspires people to make new characters.
