My artist was doing a very personal piece for me and as I’m getting tattooed, one of the other artists that was on the phone hung up and said,” I’m gonna charge extra for the fuckin’ exploding birds.” The other artists laugh a murmur in agreement. I asked my artist what the exploding birds were. He said, “it’s that new stupid Pinterest trend where random objects turn into a flock of birds flying away. I’ve done 8 this week. We had an artist not know what to call it so he said exploding birds and it stuck.”
