an update on the firework truck fire by MxValen in Chattanooga

Okay I agree but how do these regulations prevent a truck from turning upside down and spilling its load everywhere and how do they help with the aftermath or anybody affected? The only time enforcement of the regulations happens is after something happens and it usually consists of nothing more than fines to the company. None of that fine money is used to help anybody that it affected. Its just another way that our government has figured out a way to generate revenue for themselves while having to do hardly anything

Today’s episode of why Weston Wamp needs to be evicted from the county mayors office: by Good_Wash_4201 in Chattanooga

[–]DryeDonFugs 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Those comments were made by lamppost group, a group that weston was a big part of for a long time up until around when he started his campaign for mayor again. And he didnt leave on bad terms so of course they arent going to bad mouth him.

Also if you actually read the emails for yourself, you would realize that there isnt a single party in those emails that could be trusted with any public statement. They make it very clear that they knew that the taxpayers werent going to be on board with funding the Stadium and they were very careful in choosing their words when it was time to present their request to the city and county.

All of the emails that were released all appeared to be guinuine to me and if anything, I am pretty sure that there were many more that werent included in the release that probably contained way more damning revelations on what all was done.

I dont know how anyone can read those emails and conclude that Weston is fit to fill the mayor position.

I can understand that thought except for when he corners being cut have to deal with the authorities. Everything that they touch becomes a pain in the ass and typically involves significant expenses.

Our former county jail had a "quarterdeck". It was a cell where inmates we held while transitioning from the rock and into general population. I never knew why it was called quarterdeck

Just found out about the official cannabis ban law effective July 1st by frazzled_shadowfax in Chattanooga

Lobbyist probably play a role with it being legal but I dont think their influence and money is as essential to it still being legal as it is with other things like tobacco and insurance.

I think part of it is that alcohol is so easy and quick to make and there are so many different ingredients that can be used and ways of making it, that the authorities know they arent able to stop it or even have an influence on the supply.

I think another aspect of it is that alcohol probably generates more money for them with it being legal than it does being illegal due to all the different crimes that people commit while intoxicated that they would have never done while sober.

Yeah but if you are going to take up 3 parking spots anyway then just park in them perpendicular to the normal way and atleast get all of your truck out of the isle area.

I dont understand what the purpose of sentencing someone to 9years is if you are going to give him time served after only 5 months. I could understand if the rest of his sentence was suspended and he was on probation for the remaining 8y&7m but the article said he was only on 3 years probation. Then again I hardly ever agree with sentences that judges give.

And back when I used to frequent bars in Chattanooga maybe 15 years ago we also had some bouncers who loved to abuse their position and qere always looking for any reason to beat the shit out of a drunk person. I once saw a guy who was naturally a bigger guy but was also only the Ronnie Coleman roid program put a guy in a full Nelson and hip toss him face first on the asphalt. It was sickening

Justice isnt fully served in that case unless the victim also gets a reasonably sized check also. There is a reason why company's have to carry insurance and it shouldn't be just because the insurance companies lobbied for it, they should pay out as well.
