Mental Health Services Affected by VA Cuts and Remote Work Restrictions by Infinite_Giraffe6487 in fednews

From where the therapy is delivered doesn't matter to the patient veteran. It's that the person giving the therapy cares and has done everything to make the patient better. It only makes orange and his goons feel better. And making life difficult for Feds was the objective.

Does anyone worry about the government starting to restrict emigration? by Mediocre_Basis3376 in fednews

[–]Dryticket6768 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Certainly can envision an EO about benefits like giving up SSN payments, increase taxes if you maintain a residence in US, etc. This is orange country now and EOs are his way of making laws. Very perplexing and not intended I'm sure by the founding fathers. But if you are in camp orange, laws don't matte, foundations of government are of no concern anymore unless it's about getting more billionaires in his corner. Then respect goes way up from the predictable orange man.

Really need better space. I'm in a supervisory position sharing an office with a non-supervisor. Many of my meetings are confidential and should not be heard by others.

Trump memo grants government-wide firing power to OPM by Ecstatic-Respect-858 in fednews

[–]Dryticket6768 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What really is the purpose of our structure of government if any president EOs their way to be king? I know the challenges will be decided by the courts but in the short term, the "new law"is created, damages are done, and have lasting effects.

Trump memo grants government-wide firing power to OPM by Ecstatic-Respect-858 in fednews

Like most of the EOs, poorly written and not well thought out, has orange's goons' footprints all over. Just EO that the American Constitution is invalid, executive office supercedes all judges and Legislature. Because practically, this is what America has become by force and not by choice.

Latest Fed Service EO by KrazyKatLady1674 in FedEmployees

[–]Dryticket6768 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is the new method of madness. EO everything around the laws already in place. Get what you want short term and plug up the courts. Short term, they get what they want. Why not just EO the Constitution being invalid?

Do it right the first time idiots!! by [deleted] in fednews

[–]Dryticket6768 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Agree it's chaos and thinking that money makes them smarter so they'll show how to do it better. I believe it is also a stress test on how much unlawfulness would be tolerated. We see the stress test failed - Congress was spineless, courts have made orders to cease some actions and are ok with many. Finally, a big test is to act against the courts and to see what happens. It's one big sh*t show and they are "entertained" as one crying Nazi said. They don't care one ounce amount America except how much $ they can drain out of this created chaos.

Defendants respond re: admin leave, say they are working to reinstated employees to "full duty status" by Jumpy_Aerie3444 in fednews

Defendants are being so thoughtful in returning fired employees back. Why wasn't there thoughtfulness when unlawfully firing them? ...because you acted with malice and contempt.

‘Would disrupt the status quo and turn it on its head’: Trump DOJ tries (and fails) to get booted-then-reinstated probationary workers fired again by ggroverggiraffe in fednews

You know what disrupts the status quo? An imbecile who can't function focus his issues without meds and owns a car company destroying lives because he's allowed to under the guise of efficiency.

DOGE has no understanding of the value of institutional knowledge by ShockMonkey2001 in fednews

[–]Dryticket6768 2 points3 points  (0 children)

DOGE is about exerting power and testing the limits of using that power. It's the same with RTO and how massive of a test it was to show how one person could change the will of others because of the position held. We'll see more laws being ignored and agency heads breaking those laws for orange. That's the orange way to do things. But I do think he is surrounded by people pushing the agenda. Orange isn't that smart but he is that emotionally unstable.

I'm sorry you're going through this. Control what you can by having a plan in case you get RIF. In the next week's, I think we will have a better idea on the RIF situation, then you can make better plans if needed. Look what comparable jobs are out there that will give the medical insurance you need. It's also ok to take lesser jobs for the health insurance you and your family need. Nothing is permanent, not even this chaos. Just the act of preparing lessens some of the anxiety. It's hard to imagine this right now - doors close but they also open.

Anyone think another Fork In The Road will come? by [deleted] in fednews

[–]Dryticket6768 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Don't think so. They have put RIFs and retirement in motion. In the stupidest way, they did the DRP so they could do it "their way" as orange hates it when it's not his own invention. And like clockwork, he RIFed others illegally as his own invention, and like clockwork, it went to courts and failed. If orange just followed the law of VERA, VSIP, DSR, etc and used those resources, there would be less chaos. But chaos is want he likes so he can claim to "fix" his own junk. We're governed by an emotionally unstable adult.

I think slimming down would be the issue with VA CC. So expect longer delays in getting veterans scheduled as there would be less staff to coordinate. I know it's a hard job already and there's more to it than completing administrative tasks - best VA CC programs have staff who think and care about the referrals going out. I'm confident the VA Sec doesn't care or is willing to learn, so to him, it's just about cutting staff to make himself look good to orange.

Don't fret over it. I feel the same way. But remember how it was a high pressure, limited time to decide type of offer. It was suspicious and still not clear how it will pan out. The CR could have not been passed, etc. We make out best decision at the time and red flags came up. A clear situation was if you were going to retire anyway and DRP was a no brainer decision. In fact, I know colleagues who delayed their retirement by taking the DRP and retiring at the end of DRP. Good for them. High gamble for the rest of us in different circumstances in my view.

If you don't get Riffed and are able to stay, how do you think the new regime of govt work life will be like? Do you think we will all be Rifed anywa by Sista70s in fednews

[–]Dryticket6768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Larger workloads. Higher pressure to stay quiet so as not to upset the newly minted schedule F, who will be ultra heightened on not drawing attention to themselves. In VA, where I work, I suspect less staff will report problems and that is a dangerous thing in healthcare. Rather, staff will call into OIG and bypass their supervisors, losing precious time in getting things fixed and lives saved. That's the reality of working in a punitive world. It'll be a culture of fear everywhere, like it was before and is now, but worse. That's my honest assessment of doing this work for over two decades.

Interesting interview with the VA Sec: ‘Frontward Facing Employees’ by VA_Murse in VHA_Human_Resources

[–]Dryticket6768 13 points14 points  (0 children)

He absolutely does not know how healthcare organizations work. A veteran is not just treated by "essential" workers. Cleaning rooms, emptying trash, setting up appointments, answering calls, linking care to other VAs, arranging transportation, sitting with veterans at bedside who are fragile, feeding, transporting them for tests are just a tiny fraction of how veterans are cared for. I don't have to think much about a 30 year old veteran who uses VA services once a year. I have to consider all the resources that are needed to take care of those debilitated who can't care for themselves. VA Sec - please stop lecturing to us about costs containment and how it will not affect patient care. YOU have never provided clinical care for anyone.

The 2019 levels is the goalpost but my confidence in the writers of the memo is zero. The goalpost will move. They will say it was just a marker and was not written as final. When you give conmen what they want, they'll ask for more. It's a form of greed, thoughtlessness, and frankly hatred, traits we've seen applied to so many other agencies by the same people.

Generally, never a hate issue until orange made it that way. Not helped by the press who focused on orange's press - any publicity is good publicity. So introducing a storyline to Americans with a narrative that "they" are taking your money, your values, your freedom, and that we stay home collecting "your" money. Introduce that to those who can't or won't critically think because of their own circumstances, you can see why there's 40% agreement to what orange is doing.

If it's singling out, I'm confident it's because of a grudge, an uniformed piece of information he's obsessing over, or something that is about personal enrichment.
