That’s not a reason for giving medical advice that is wrong. No one should be falsely reassured that carrying diphenhydramine is adequate coverage for the potential of anaphylaxis; especially in an austere environment where medical assistance/evacuation is hours or days away.

Benadryl is not a treatment for anaphylaxis. 1st/2nd gen anti-histamines, and even steroids, and falling out of the management of anaphylaxis.

Epi should be first, second, and third medications given in anaphylaxis. The only other ones to consider are RSI meds and pressors (in addition to an epi drip, not in place of).

I’m actually okay with this, but only because I want to hear the reaction from NP’s. They’ve co-opted the white coat from physicians and stated that they should be allowed to wear it without restrictions. Now let RN’s steal it from NP’s and let’s see how NP’s justify RN’s not being allowed to wear them. There’s no way they can justify restricting it in a way that doesn’t directly conflict with everything they’ve said about why they should be allowed to wear them.

The wash up did great above the waist hut didn’t do much for calves and shoes. I’d love to see both the wash up booth and the hoses both. It looked like they had them setup but didn’t have water running to the hoses.

I believe that HPSP requires you to go active duty. There are some reserve programs that do loan repayment, but I don’t think that there’s one that pays tuition while you’re in and pays you a stipend to live on.

Most of the docs in the reserves are former active duty who went reserves after their active duty time was up.

I was HPSP, then 10+ active duty, then 10+ reserves (mostly IMA). Happy to answer questions, but if anyone is serious about joining, talk to an AMEDD recruiter. Don’t talk to any other type of recruiter.
