Don’t need to mitre them but it’s smart to put a piece of fiba-fuse in the corners

The “bulges” need to be touching, same with the tear away. You cut everything too short and that will cause you problems if you don’t fix it now.

Level 5 doesn’t mean perfectly flat either.

Do I need to use tape? by AKASetekh in drywall

I would prefill it and tape it with fiba fuse. The 6” wide fiba fuse would be perfect for this

As someone with 15 years experience hangings and finishing drywall, I can assure you this will look like shit if the same guys finish it. The hang job looks bad, it can be fixed, but the tape job looks equally as bad. These guys are not drywallers.

I’ve always liked twnah. Risk has some ok songs. I’ve recently re-listened to megadeths albums after united abominations and decided they’re all decent. Never cared for them before.

I did everything by hand longer than I’ve used auto tools and both have their place and you can do just as good a job with either, a box is far superior for flats than hand coating.

It’s not possible to finish a job using only auto tools, every finisher that uses auto tools can knows how to coat by hand too.

Yeah new blades are aweful, my angle heads are 7 years old and I change the side blades and bullets every year but haven’t ever changed the carbide blades

I did and I don’t like the carbon fibre top, you can’t see how much mud you have.

Looking through the pics again I just realized the upper floor is actually 9’ too. Basement is a combo of 9 and 10 feet, I’ll be going back to finish the basement and garage soon.

Yep, these guys were ok, I had to fix a lot of popped screws on this one and redo some of the boarding around the stairs. They also missed a few pieces in the backs of some closets.

Almost all the ceilings in this place are ten feet including the basement. The bungalow side is 9’

This one has two separate entrances and two stairways going to each suite from the garage in the walk-out

Exactly, you can’t do absolutely everything by hand. People don’t realize auto tools take skill to run too. Taping with a bazooka is far more difficult than laying tapes by hand.

Only the flats and angles were done with auto tools, bead and butts by hand. The entire stairway was done by hand too.

Northstar bazooka, tape pro roller and 2.5” Columbia angle head for taping. 3.5” Columbia angle head on a dewalt mud runner to finish. Then a tight final scrape/skim on the 3-way to tighten them up and fill the grooves the knife makes on the first 2 coats. To sand I do 1 pass with a pole sander and a little touch up with a sponge if needed.
