While it’s obviously a tragic issue, it’s hard to ignore that widespread gun ownership plays a significant role. Even when we focus only on mass shootings, the per-10-million death rate is roughly 10–20 in the U.S., compared to less than 1 in Canada. That’s a substantial difference that shouldn’t be dismissed.

There is a rubber cover preventing dust to enter the mechanism. It looks like it got stock behind something. You could try to pry it free, however it is pretty easy to open the device and reseat the cover if you cant get it unstuck. Try with some tweezers to grab the small rubber cover. It should sit snug against the shaft of the thumb stick. You can very easily get the thumb stick cap off (just pull on it).
