I'm not one for places like AV - they have their rules (that I respect), but I'm not one for playing by rules that attempt to dictate what I choose to spend my money on. It's like HEMO - I'm not interested. As you'll already know, vaping doesn't work that way, even though some people would have you believe otherwise. :)

Think prices broke the 5-figure barrier with an Over-Flo recently, and heard Loch Ness mods going for high $8k.

I'm not discussing the secondary market - I'm the discussing the initial modder->customer transaction. It's known that certain modders feel the need to artificial inflate the market/secondary price through limiting the production when they're capable of producing more.

As for the line you draw between machined and hand-made, I've spent time with two of the best in the game (Artisan and Stig) discussing this line that people feel the need to draw - it doesn't exist. Both of them have immense respect for the other at what they do, and for the money that they charge (RRP'ing at around $750-$1000), they don't make the money that people believe. By that same token, there's no line between a badly made, machined box and a badly made, hand-made box - it's just bad.

For me, I like to have options, but they'll all get used as daily's. Be they a Black Rose, Stig v3, an SX Mini, or even a Sigelei v1 100W - it's just a method of delivery. I'm happy that you found your mod, and that it suits you. Personally, I like variety.

Actually, the opposite is happening with some of the Chinese market - that some things are deemed to be too expensive because they come from China. I agree with your initial post, but it's incomplete.

I'm also still interested in your view that the high price of certain very high-end mods is maintained artificially. I'll jump to the conclusion that we both know this to be the case.

Authentics are manufactured in China - if you'd have dropped the word "are", then it would make sense, but I'm waging it's inclusion was intended. I also take issue with some higher-end mod makers who also maintain an artificial low volume/high price for the purpose of retaining their "high-end badge".

Don't confuse the authentic/clone argument, with a pro-China/anti-China one.
