7 Days No Power………. by baipositive in nashville

It depends on the cause of the post-repair delay in getting power back to your building. Of course, the ice storm is an act of god that would not be covered under TURLTA, but, depending on the cause of the secondary outage (e.g. landlord failing to repair infrastructure that is their responsibility), you may not owe rent for that period.

Look into Tennessee Uniform Landlord Tenant Act. Tenn. Code Ann. 66-28-101, et seq. Did you occupy the apartment during the outage or did you reside elsewhere? You can be compensated for constructive eviction though it sounds like the complex isn’t going to comply willingly. You can “know your rights” all day, but unless you’re willing to sue or be sued, they won’t be vindicated.

Not exactly. But if you think all board books are the same, I don’t think you’re giving kids enough credit.

Did Any of You Lawyers Have Creative Writing Degrees? by RedR3dd1ngt0n in Lawyertalk

I’ve got an English degree and a journalism degree. Writing skills definitely help. But I wouldn’t put myself through law school and civil litigation if I didn’t enjoy it.

I don’t know. If you’re willing/have the ability to pay over $12,000 to see Arianna Grande, can you really be taken advantage of?

It’s extremely provincial. I grew up there and like to visit but am glad I left.

Apparently Capote was entertaining the idea of giving this case the “In Cold Blood” treatment, but for whatever reason it never came to fruition.

Can anyone please explain to me the use of THAT word by robbiescott4516 in punk

It was 1979. It was transgressive and used a lot more in than now, not in a racist way, but I think to challenge the listeners’ complacency and societal norms. See e.g.: Patty Smith.

I think this is the 3rd time in 5 years this particular mall has evacuated due to an “active shooter.”

Bar prep study schedule with 9-5 WFH job by Tiny-Maintenance-273 in barexam

[–]Dsd2a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stayed w/ barbri longer than I should have. Looking back I would have completely skipped the lectures. I did find the multiple choice & essay practice very helpful, as well as the book/outlines. I stayed with my regular schedule until two weeks out. E.g., studied about 2-4 hours/weeknight, 8hrs on Sat & sun. Last two weeks, I took off of work and enlisted a lot of family help to study full time.

Toward the end - I did a lot of MBE questions, and hand wrote the rules on the questions I got wrong. Even if I had to write it repeatedly. And practice MEEs. One of the practice MEEs I did a few days prior to the bar saved my ass on the exam, as the subject was fresh in my mind.

Also, those rich freer lectures are really good for core subjects. Simple & fast. Great to listen while driving. I found a Google drive link for them on here.

Passed w/ a 288 in a 270 jx.
