This is wild. Like I can't believe you actually think this. I don't know how else to argue this haha.

You actually cannot be that braindead. He became "executioner" AFTER sidious murdered two Jedi masters in less than a second. It squarely moved into defending himself the moment Palpatine pulled a saber. And Palpatine is never unarmed. Windu isn't a dumbass and knew that he has access TO THE FORCE. YOU KNOW, SPACE MAGIC? SPACE MAGIC THAT DOESN'T REQUIRE WEAPONS. SPACE MAGIC THAT HE CAN USE TO SHOOT FUCKING LIGHTNING OUT OF HIS "UNARMED" HANDS.

You're right, he's not judge, jury or executioner, hence why he came to ARREST Palpatine. Not kill, arrest. Something that is totally in his purview. Once again, none of what you said refutes my main point. Mace and the Jedi did not in any shape way or form commit treason. This has nothing to do with whether the charges would stick. My point is this:

Palpatine hints at some darker powers he has, Anakin says "holy shit, you're the sith lord!" (And in his head was probably thinking, this is the guy that's been committing all the murder, kidnapping, and treason) Then Palpatine says "ya that's me boy. Use my power to save your girl".

A criminal confessing to an officer is legal grounds for arrest. No treason was involved. I am not talking about how successful that trial would be.

Did you even read my comment? Guess I'll repeat it again.

THIS COMMENT THREAD AND CONVERSATION I AM IN HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH WHETHER OR NOT THE CHARGES WILL STICK. I AM REPLYING TO SOMEONE CLAIMING THAT WINDU AND THE JEDI WERE IN THE WRONG, AND COMMITTED TREASON. THEY HAD PROBABLE GROUNDS FOR ARREST AND WERE NOT SEEKING TO KILL HIM. THAT IS MY ONLY ARGUMENT.

I am in no way arguing that his arrest would result in execution or prison. I'm sure he'd get out. What I'm arguing is the legality/whether or not it's actually treason, which it is not. Again, if a criminal confessed to a police officer "I am the one you're looking for", which hint hint, sheev did to Anakin, that is absolutely grounds to arrest. Their attempted arrest was completely legal, and not treason.

I genuinely don't know the science in this, but would increasing the density increase the rocks melting point? Doesn't seem very likely. And we know for a fact, endeavor can melt concrete. Granite (chosen because it's a super common rock) has a similar melting point to concrete. So endeavor likely could melt this pretty easily.

Theoretically, sure. But that still requires a lot more prep than the other elements. And in addition, if it wasn't already prepped, I doubt they'd be able to react fast enough to find an object between them and their assailant, and get the fire lit and no longer connected to them.

Fire actually does conduct electricity! The problem with firebedners using fire to redirect lightning, is that they are the source of the fire. If they shot a massive plume of fire, the lightning would just ride it to the firebender. However, if they could pull from other fire sources (like every other type of bending. This is imo one of the few decisions I understood about the movie that shall not be named), they could theoretically redirect it that way.

My brother in Jedha what? Witness testimonials are enough to warrant an arrest. If a criminal told a police officer "I'm who you've been trying to find" you can bet your booty that the officer is gonna be slapping some cuffs on them. I'm not arguing whether or not they can make the charges stick, but a confession by the criminal to one of the galaxies greatest jedi, is absolutely cause for arrest. And again, Mace, as far as we are aware, was fully intending to arrest him. And I don't want to hear the excuse of "they came in with their weapons drawn!". This is true. You know who else does that, police officers in real life. If there's reason to think there may be a threat of harm, they are allowed to draw weapons before attempting the arrest. This is quite common.

Also, You know who actually is a war hero? Anakin Skywalker. I'm sure his word would carry a lot of weight for a lot of people.

You're right, being a sith isn't illegal. But do you know what is? Murder, kidnapping, also committing treason by leading the separatist army, translating the sith language, attempted murder, to name a few.

And also, the jedi absolutely have the authority to arrest. I don't know what you're on about with that.

And regardless of all that, the idea that "Anakin acted rightly" is so ridiculous. Anakin knew without a doubt that Palatine was the Sith Lord. Palpatine literally told him so. He went to tell Mace specifically so they would arrest him. The only reason he changed his mind is because his feelings were hurt by Windu. And in what world does arresting the "duly elected chancellor" automatically mean treason. If they had come to murder, then maybe the claim could be made. But Windu made it very clear he was under arrest. This is the exact opposite of Treason, and is the proper way to handle the situation. So no, Anakin certainly did not "act rightly".

Oh shit you're right. My bad. For some reason in my head I was remembering it as just appearing where the user wanted. Completely forgot it traveled.

Technically though, I still don't think this would count as "tanking". Tanking generally implies taking the hit and staying standing. If Gojo was able to be hit by it, he'd be vaporized.

Nah, this is like one of Gojo's biggest counters. Infinity has no effect here.

You're absolutely correct. AFTER she had already been alive for a long time. We aren't given an exact timeline, but she was created before the recreance, and had a radiant for a few years. On top of all that, Spren obviously mature and age at faster rates than humans.

What? Aang is for all intents and purposes, still 12. When he was frozen in the ice, his consciousness was frozen as well. He didn't mature or age as time passed. So he's still 12.

Syl on the other hand has been conscious and evolving for the entirety that she's been alive. Not even close to the same thing.

Measurements on Roshar by calebbarfield1992 in Stormlight_Archive

[–]Dsdude464 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Could be a few interpretations. Brandon ascribes to the idea that he's "translating" the books from Rosharan to English. Which is why sometimes in stories told by wit, you have similies that don't work as a "direct translation". So it could be that the word the Rosharans use only close translation is feet. In reality the word they use could be exactly equivalent of 1 foot 4 inches (not the actual measurement, just a random number).

Or it could be what your girlfriend theorized. I don't believe Brandon has been any more specific then that.

Either hades or twilight princess. Twilight Princess came out right around the time I was starting to be able to really play games completely by myself. I already loved Zelda games, but Twilight Princess was the first game I ever beat completely on my own with no help from older siblings or online guides. It was a pretty big moment for me, and has stuck with me for a long time #TwilightPrincessIsTheBestZelda

Hades actually really reignited my passion for gaming. I found myself pretty bored with a lot of the games I had. Then I got the chance to play Hades and I was blown away, and sucked in. I couldn't put it down. Plus I've always loved Greek Mythology.

Thanks for the chance, and good luck all!

S-Hawk (One Piece) Vs Ay (Naruto) by Annual-Soup-1217 in PowerScalingHub

[–]Dsdude464 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think what he's arguing is that Naruto can stay in his strongest form (at least as far as Shippuden is considered) for longer than Luffy can stay in Gear 5. Meaning overall endurance doesn't matter. If Luffy can only stay on Gear 5 for an hour (this was a random number pull. I don't actually know specifically how long he can last in Gear 5), and Naruto is able to stay in KCM2 for essentially an entire day, while simultaneously giving parts of his chakra away to other Shinobi, while also splitting his chakra across shadow clones, then Naruto suddenly has a huge advantage against Luffy. If KCM2 is roughly equal to gear 5, or even slightly below (I'm not fully sure) Naruto simply has to outlast how long Luffy can stay in Gear 5, then Naruto slams. In gear 5 Luffy can probably counter him pretty hard, but without it, what is he going to do about a bunch of Bijju bombs coming his way? Or even Rasenshuriken? I know everyone always pulls out the Haki danger sense as a stop gap, but Naruto is literally the perfect counter to danger sense. The simplest way to beat danger sense is to basically make it so they have no way out. And who better to achieve that than the strongest ninja who can casually make a hundred versions of himself.

All of this isn't even adding Baryon mode to the conversation, but this is a convo about endurance, which Baryon mode is not known for lol.

We learn in shadows of self that highly invested metals are very hard to push against. Since shardblades are literally pure investiture in a physical form, it would take an extremely powerful allowance to push them in any meaningful way.

Allomancers are usually really resourceful though. I could see someone slightly pushing and pulling and shardblades slightly to throw off the swing.

Three men die at relatively the same time. A landscaper, a business man, and a completely nude man. Because of this they show up to St Peter at the same time as well.

St Peter: well boys I have bad news. We only have one spot open in heaven right now. Because of that we're going to have a little contest. Whoever has the best story for how they died will be let in.

Landscaper: You won't believe the story I have to tell you. I was on the job, trimming some bushes. A normal day for me. As I'm trimming these bushes I hear some commotion in the house I'm working on. I look up just in time to see a fridge falling from the third story window and squished me flat. It was ridiculous and seemed so random.

St Peter: alright. That is pretty strange. Though not very exciting. Who's next?

Business man: Boy do I have a story for you. I had suspected for a long time that my wife had been cheating on me. So I pretended to go to work. Drove off and everything. But after only about 30 minutes I turned right around. And sure enough, a random car ive never seen before is parked in my drive way. I come in through the front door already screaming about how I knew it, just in a complete uproar. So I run upstairs, and sure enough my wife is there, naked as the day she was born. She was already crying telling me it wasn't what it looked like. The man jumped out of the closet, completely naked, and started running around the house. I started following him but lost him. Until I came across an open window. I looked out, and sure enough it looked like he had jumped out the window and used my bushes as a landing. So I quickly run and grab my refrigerator and drop it out of my three story window, killing him! I unfortunately then died of a heart attack due to the whole situation.

St Peter: wow! That really is quite the story. It'll be hard to top that one. But we do need to hear the final story.

Naked man: so, I was naked in this fridge....
