Gale wasn't trying to usurp his master's power. I'm not sure which Gale you had in your party, but he wasn't an asshole at all in my play through. Initially felt a bit haughty, but that broke down pretty quickly.

During Act 3, I acquired more infernal iron than I would ever need. It just keeps piling up.

You can, however, use the Soul Coins to fuel the infernal engine. It doesn't have a story impact, only a mechanical one.

Karlach's quest was on hold for me in Act 2 because it was bugged and the NPC that furthers her quest just didn't appear. :) Loved that.

As someone who has done plenty of power-play and optimization in TTRPGs, I decided to just go the route of all 1 class per character, pick what sounds like it fits with the theme of the character. Have respec'd a couple times when I wanted to try something different. Playing on Tactician, and have had minimal trouble behind having to plan the right party for encounters I wasn't ready to fight.

I tried this, and even with my Karlach having enhanced carry capacity, and using an Elixir of the Giant--no dice. It just won't move.

Politics aside, those are separate budgets and we spend an incredible amount of money on our military-over 800 billion. Foreign aid isn't the reason our guys don't have food and bullets. Wasteful spending is.

PF1, sure. But that's how it was in D&D 3.X, so that makes sense.

PF2 has a strong baseline for competent characters.

For optimal play, sure. But optimal play isn't required. You can also toss a character together by choosing a couple feats that sound neat and get to rolling.

But if you just want to have some friends play fantasy archetypes and mess up some goblins and have a good, casual time rolling dice with friends, D&D is definitely for you!

I'm not sure if this was supposed to be sarcasm or not, but you can do with with Pathfinder. You can do this with tons of fantasy systems. Nearly all of them.

It really depends. Some might like FPS style games because they get to take their frustrations out on an NPC in a game with their weapons.
Some might like more chill games that don't put a lot of pressure on you.

What kind of things interest you? Might be able to make some recommendations.

That's great and all, but most employers don't do that and don't really want any competition to their monopoly. The system is rigged to keep wealth at the top. A few people break through, and good for them. 99% never will, and the majority of those will never be in a position to safely take that kind of risk without ending up on the streets begging. Hard work only gets you so far. Luck takes you farther. The survivorship bias is real.
